Re: THE CORE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEIR ROOTS IN PAKISTAN

a spoonful of shariah washed down with a glass of taqwa cures many societal illnesses

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

Sorry to disappoint you Dushwari, but it is very unlikely you’ll get a good response to your good post. I created a few threads in the past trying to address problems to see what solutions we can come up with… guess what the threads died with “umpteen views” but “zero responses” (or hardly any response).

People here love to bash the parties they oppose, they’ll hardly come up with solutions to the problems, love to bash politicians/previous govts for their past crimes, some will defend even current rulers (applies to people defending last govt as well). I stopped pondering over solutions to our problems and now I do “Allah Allah”.

Yeah, you can count this post of mine as useless too :bummer:

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

i'll try to ponder over the categories later.

But i believe that the over all core problem or flaw is dishonesty , impatience , lack of morals and inability to work togather selflessly as a team or community for the benefit of the nation................ i think mr.Jinnah hinted that flaw 60 yrs back hence emphasized on Unity , Faith & Discipline

Solution to all problems are in Islam. We put Islam on the bottom of our list that is why we face these illnesses in all the ugly forms.

...

No muslim can disagree with this statement, however in this day and age it is too simplistic a view.

My view is quite the opposite, it is since we have started to force our brands of islam on this nation in a simplistic way without understanding it's true essence, we have got ourselves in this mess. For example before the Mullah Power days of late 70s Pakistan was a very open, tolerant and progressive society. Ever since the mullahs started to ram their respective versions of islam down people's throats we have started to hate each other, Sunni killing Shia, Shia killing Sunni, everyone killing Ahmedis and now the Wahabis killing everyone!!

True but are the scholars the only ones responsible for the mess? Do not the people have an hand in this? The average joe in Pakistan (well just above average) the ones who are educated and have basic understanding of religion, they do not turn to the scholars, then who is to blame? Forget these people, the elites should have more responsibility because they have the resources. But no, they do not turn to the 'mullah', the ones that do are the ignorant uneducated class which is unfortunately a great number in Pakistan.

Totally agreed! I think this is the core problem... Its not that difficult to get out of it. However, effort is the one thing needed desperately from everyone.
Sad thing is, everybody knows this is the problem but no one is ready to get rid of it by acting on the solution. Everyone is blaming everyone else.

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

Again a great list…cool… :k:

But my first priority would be to secure water & food…than education & health…rest of the elements of the above list will be dragged with…

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

The core problems is lack of education and lack of proper institutions. Years of military dictatorship has hindered the growth of strong institutions and as a result whenever civilian govts were in power there were no strong check and balances on them. The first thing we need to do is to focus on education, strengthening of our institutions and only than we can move forward. We also need to get rid of extremists in our midst who use Islam to mislead the masses and commit horrendous crimes .

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

Pakistan has one problem and one problem only. Leadership. Z.A. Bhutto for all the ills he created in our society was a damn fine leader. He should courage, foresight and frankly had balls of steel. None of the other democratically elected leadership and Musharraf have shown foresight, courage or leadership in anyway.

Leadership comes from the top down, not from the bottom up. Our issues with corruption, lack of law and order and the decay of society is linked with the fact that our leadership is responsible for all these actions and when the poor see their is no accountability they think "why am I not getting my share?".

Our leadership was bought and sold the day Benazir came to power in the late 80s. NS has been no better.

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

^ I agree, but disagree on the last part... It was bought and sold the day ZAB was arrested. Everyone after that was a stooge.

its the government that needs educating

Re: The core of the problem and their roots in Pakistan

Pakistan's creation was for muslims not for the United States to fight it's b.s. wars. Look at Iran, India, Spain, Japan, Venezuela etc etc. These countries could care less what daddy bush has to say. But punk-fool Zardari runs to U.S. to take order from his new masters.

All current members of PPP, PML-N, PML-Q etc need to be given a pink slip.

New leaders on merit(not how much their parents have looted) between the ages of 30-40 should form their parties.
End the Jagardari system. Party can be lead by one leader for not more then 8 years.

Ypu are wrong my friend. The problem is the misinterpretation of islam which is been spread and given highest priority.what do u think the porblem in afghanistan was before US attacked. They were using religion and it was number 1 in the list but they were using it for wrong doing.

I think people in pakistan are equally hard working as in other country and corruption and bad leadership doesnt stopped the growth to a halt.

Leaders are the **essence **of a nation...so now blame the leaders or the folks...

PS: Its a pity...some 60% of the folks (disgusted) don't show up at the ballots...so we cannot have a real leader in a democratic sense...wow... :D

PS1: I'd encourage someone count the real percentage of the voters of the ruling parties...by that we will know how we are ruled... :)

exactly what I said in my post, if we learn to approach the authentic scholars then only then we can implement the true Islam. If put this first in priority, we automatically get rid of the wrong misinterpretations.

Completely disagree with that nation. Leaders are part of the top 2% of society. They are by no means the essence of society. They have the money for elections, the golden spoon in their mouth and the like.

This is Pakistan, there is no democracy. The moment you can buy votes, the notion of democracy is destroyed.

The blame lies with the lack of leadership. It is pretty obvious our leaders are a bunch of jahils who work to fill their own bank accounts.
