The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

Mullah apologists and supporters must be laughing their lotas off. However this is a sad moment for Pakistan.

censored by moderator disease is spreading fast. This is like a virulent infection taking over the world. The first step in the eradication of this disease is the total quarantine of every fascistic supporter of Mullahs. Only then we can move to the second step of treating this disease.

Time to act now, before Pakistani cities of Peshawar, kohat, and Islamabad become Mullah Jannat of Kabul, Kandhar, and Jalalabad.

Pakistan rocket strike kills 14

**At least 14 people have been killed and about 30 injured by rockets fired into a city in the north-west of Pakistan, police say. **

Four rockets were fired into Bannu hitting some houses, a mosque and a shop, a police official said.

There has been increased unrest in Pakistan since security forces ousted Islamist militants out of a radical mosque in Islamabad earlier in July.
About 180 people, mostly police and soldiers, have been killed in attacks.
Most of the unrest has been in Pakistan’s north-west region.

Bannu is on the edge of the North Waziristan tribal region, a centre of support for Taleban-style militants.

Separately, a bomb explosion reportedly damaged a high school in Miram Shah, headquarters of North Waziristan, on Wednesday morning, but no casualties were reported.

Suspected militants have also killed two Pakistani soldiers whom they had kidnapped from the Khaar area on Monday, our correspondent in Islamabad says.

The army said on Monday that it had killed 35 militants in North Waziristan near the border with Afghanistan.

The mosque assault prompted militants along the border to scrap controversial peace accords with the government.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

no weapons in the hands of religious students and people striving for a shariah based system, must be agencies causing alaram, foriegn forces (india, US, israel) or maybe te angels who were fighting against SSG in lal masjid have regrouped..who knows.

Just dont point fingers at the usual suspects.. I implore you.

poor ppl, I dont see or hear much hoopla about the loss of innocent life in this case.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

Anyone blamed MQM yet?

Rocket attack on Pakistani city.

Allah reham karay.

At least eight people have been killed and about 30 injured after Islamic militants fired rockets into a city in north-west Pakistan, police say.

Four rockets were fired into Bannu hitting a number of houses, a mosque and a shop.

Re: Rocket attack on Pakistani city.

^^ Ya I added this to the 3rd Waziristan War Wikipedia page

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

^^ probably....

But I am curious to see what kind of excuse is Khanbabax and Company are going to come up for this

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

I condemn the these innocent killings as much as i condemned the indescriminate/excessive killing in Lal Mosque by Pak army...

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

how were the killings in Red Mosque indiscriminate?

they fired upon the SSG and SSG returned fire and the militants died in the proces…

they also killed 11 SSG commandos and the battle lasted for 36 hours so it wasn’t a one sided kill fest.

the people who died in lal masjid siege, deserved to die, if some innocents got killed then i blame the militants and not the army.

if the army wanted, they could have send in a couple of F-16 and completely obliterated the place

the fact that they send in the SSG showed that they were willing to take every chance to safe guard innocent lives.

And 11 of them died in the process.

Indiscriminate killing indeed. :snooty:

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

You are speaking for none, standing up for none, defending none, attacking none. Why then you botthered to post your comments? Keep sitting on the fence and enjoy.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

Again, they werent indiscriminate killings, they were targeted at actual terrorists

Re: Rocket attack on Pakistani city.

Now that is some Islam they want to implement :k:

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

It is ISI's work, I tell ya, just to gain support for anti-militancy.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

the fata situation is way diffewrent to that of the lal masjid

fata is a place that has started to war against pakistan. a war against the ordinary people of bannu. this leaves the army of only one option, be it started tonight, tommorrow or a weeks time. an offensive against fata militants is certain. i cant say i can see any other way to sort this mess out.

what we need to do is differentiate fata from lal masjid situations. the lal masjid affair was too closely contested in debate by the people and if fata offensive is linked to lal masjid then fata will gain some amount of sympathy.

dont lead people up the wrong path, dont link mullahs with fata, dont link ethnicity with fata. although the bannu attack has significantly reduced the ethnic tensions risk anyway(isi??).

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

so Army decided to shoot themselves in lal masjid? terrorists had nothing more than water pistils I presume.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

not everything was right about lal masjid but some of the stories and alignments made in the press were also fabricated. it all leads to whether military intervention was needed, what was needed and how. to confuse the lal masjid situation with proper militants is easilly done yet derails the war on terror.

to answer your question, i'll refer you to a question to ask yourself, did you see lal masjid attacking using terror or did you see them trying(wrongly may i add) to hold their ground. they were involved in various disputes with the government. to say it was part of the same ideology as fata is not true

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

the fact they had live ammunitions with guns = shoot the b@stads. Nothing more needed.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

So when the Lal Masjid people attacked a police checkpoint and took 4 policemen hostage after the police arrested students from the madrassah, that was not a direct physical attack on the country and government?

How should the government deal with people who attack the police? Give them hugs?

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

i did say lal masjid wasnt entirely in the right. yet the media hyped up, lied and the government actions are still questioned. the whole thing could have been sorted out. the lal masjid affair wasnt off the political spectrum of pakistan

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

Sorted out how? By letting them escape justice for their multiple violations of law? The government's demands were simple and just. Pakistan has several laws that the Lal Masjid broke; the government simply asked for surrender, arrest, and trial.

Given recent court rulings against the government, you cannot argue that the courts are simply government tools. The Lal Masjid's people would have had a fair trial to prove whether or not they did anything illegal.

Instead, they refused to surrender, and chose to attack the soldiers sent in to seize them.

Re: The city of Banu under siege: Mullahs kills women and children

what your saying is correct and would work in a functional country. however this is pakistan we are talking about. where government solicited murders in karachi have gone unpunnished and uninvestigated. the government refuses to police the state as the law says, ie no brothels, justice for rapists etc etc
lal masjid launched a campaign, which was allowed to spiral out of control. you mentioned the law breaking, yet we are supposed to be linking this to terrorism.

better options were not followed. to alienate the mazbi is a mistake.

and maybe yeah the people of pakistan are saying how courageous the soldiers were, more people talk of mass murder and coverup

lal masjid affair was more complex then people admit
