Arabs were proud of their language. When Quran was being revealed their were many famous poets writing poetry. There were competitions between poets and the winners were made heads of tribes, but they were unable to produce a single line in the language used in Quran. Many people having grip over language accepted Islam just after listening to a verse from Quran.
