The Challenge Of The Qur'an

:salam2:

Literature and poetry have been instruments of human expression and creativity, in all cultures. The world also witnessed an age when literature and poetry occupied pride of position, similar to that now enjoyed by science and technology.

Muslims are well as non-Muslims agree that the Al-Qur’an is Arabic literature par excellence - that it is the best Arabic literature on the face of the earth. The Qur’an, challenges mankind in the following verses:

The challenge of the Qur’an, is to produce a single Surah (chapter) like the Surahs it contains. The same challenge is repeated in the Qur’an several times. The challenge to produce a Surah, which, in beauty, eloquence, depth and meaning is at least somewhat similar to a Qur’anic Surah remains unmet to this day.

A modern rational man, however, would never accept a religious scripture which says, in the best possible poetic language, that the world is flat. This is because we live in an age, where human reason, logic and science are given primacy. Not many would accept the Qur’an’s extraordinarily beautiful language, as proof of its Divine origin. Any scripture claiming to be a divine revelation must also be acceptable on the strenght of its own reason and logic.

The Qur’an is not a book of science but a book of ‘signs’, i.e. ayats. There are more than six thousand ‘signs’ in the Qur’an of which more than a thousand deal with science.

May Allah SWT! gives us ability to read, learn and understand. Ameen

Re: The Challenge Of The Qur'an

The Quran challenges the whole humanity including jinns to produce a similar book in 17:88, then the challenge was reduced to 10 Suras 11:13 and finally 1 Sura in 2:23, some suras are very short the shortest being al-Kawthar with only 3 sentences. This challenge is not confined to the period when Rasullah (saww) was present amongst the Arabs and is to stand till the day of judgement. This challenge could not be limited to eloquence and style or the challenge would not cover non-Arabs whose language is not Arabic.

[10:16] Say: If Allah had so willed I should not have recited it to you nor would He have made it known to you. I dwelt among you a whole lifetime before it (came to me). Have ye then no sense?

One aspect of this challenge is in the verse above highlighting how Prophet (saww) had no apparent education or learning from any teacher, nor was he renowned for extraordinary speech or poetry until he presented Quran to the people. All of a sudden all the masters of literature in Arabia were tongue-tied in front of this book!

[2:129] Our Lord! and raise up in them a Messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.

Prophet (saww) was blessed with amazing knowledge and wisdom including the knowledge of literature but this was kept hidden from the people or they would blame the Prophet (saww) of forging the book. Imam Ali (as) who had no teacher in his life besides the Prophet (saww) showed the class of eloquence unmatched till today today. His speeches and writings are still master piece in Arabic literature and are testimony to the knowledge of our Prophet (saww) himself.

Re: The Challenge Of The Qur'an

was this prayer answered by Allah SWT?, was this prophet ever sent?

why would they need to when ramesha will come and make that accusation?

painting a mythical ali(AS) as someone who scurries about is one thing but please do not try to imply that on the prophet SAW. have some sense

Re: The Challenge Of The Qur'an

^shardmany, I was referring to Prophet's literature related abilities such as writing and poetry making that were popular in Arabia at that time. Why do you think he never wrote in his life nor his words were lingual masterpiece like the words of his students?

Please do not take passages out of my writing and twist them.

Re: The Challenge Of The Qur’an

^everything youve stated here is incorrect. its painful to read actually

i know the set of narrations (fabrications) you or those you are following attain these set of beliefs from. youve even used a verse in similar way to manipulate your point as the narration does, whilst ignoring several other ayats. here is a refutation of that narration Prophet (pbuh) Unlettered | Giving Dawah to Shia

shia site a-i, in its unschooled article, disagrees with you aswell. although there is the possibility of takiyah somewhere as the kufr would be obvious

the book of Allah SWT says:

And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted 29:48 translation y.Ali

shakir translation
And you did not recite before it any book, nor did you transcribe one with your right hand, for then could those who say untrue things have doubted.

also

“Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper.” 7:157

day: “O men! I am sent unto you all, as the Messenger of Allah, to Whom belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth: there is no god but He: it is He That giveth both life and death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believeth in Allah and His words: follow him that (so) ye may be guided.” 7:158

It is He Who has sent amongst the unlettered an apostle from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, in manifest error;- 62:2

this is another case of you following false narrations at the cost of the quran. whats worse is you attribute ‘hiding’ to the quran and the prophet SAW. this belief that islam is the religion of men who wear brown cloaks to fully cover themselves and scurry from one wall to the other to hide behined is most absurd. thats not islam, that is koofi lies

you even say he, SAW, did not write, then how do you come to the conclusions you have, its mind boggling deceit against Allah SWT and his messenger SAW
