KPT is still looking for investors... the Chief Minister of Sindh seems dead set against highrises so it seems difficult...
A lot of new contruction is going on in Karachi though, such as the Dolmen mall along the coast which will include two 60 storey towers.

Skyscrapers are symbols of economic and technological progress.

according to the email i received from their customer care, the plan for completion is in 4 yrs. it looks like a good place to buy an apartment in if you have the money for it.

Regarding the Centaurus,

Its a good project but the location is not.... Its right next to sector F-8

  • PIMS (hospital ) is also very close. What about the traffic that is already in a mess?

Maybe they could have found a better place...

Already Islamabad has lost its charm....Most of the green belts have big roads in them now.

True, Umer, but the project would provide job opportunities, and bring in tourism. In the end, everyone wins.

I'm more concerned about security issues with that thing. I'm sure someone would love to blow it up. And to top it off, Pakistan's so called building projects haven't been going too well. You're always hearing of these new building projects, and then you see construction taking forever and projects being abandoned midway.

Well, if you look at the renderings, the project I think will enhance the beauty of the area… There will be landscaping along the sides and infront of the building.

To be honest, hotels like the Marriot are very nice.. Service is better then most hotels in the west, atleast when compared to other marriots. Marriots in the US dont provide half the services in you would have in Islamabad Marriot.
But in case of Architecture then yeah…
Although the new Sheik Zayed center Hotel and the New Hyatt Regancy near the Islamabad Airport are also simply GORGEOUS…
On side not, the the Sheik Zayed center will be visable across the border in India:hehe:
We may see a Skyscraper race instead of an arms race for once.

Pakistan needs to concentrate on the pollution levels in its cities.

Its needs subways to reduce conjestion and then needs to BAN Tongas and Rickshaws. The horse manure + rickshaw pollution produces an unimaginable horrid smell.

Then Pakistan needs to introduce Emission Control and stingently enforce it.

Subways will reduce Pakistani Traffic by 50% and emission control will further reduce pollution and the banning of rickshaws and tongas will reduce pollution, noise and annoyance.

Then Pakistan needs to plant over 1 Million Trees in Pakistani cities. These trees will make the climate cool and give a nice asthetic look to Pakistani cities.
