I regret not reading this book in my teen years. I regret not reading it even after my teen years up until now. What a marvelous character narration and wry but realistic observations.
While I was reading it, one of my friends said that you’d like the character of Holden Claufield even if you’re not like that character. He is right.
The most amusing part of the book was the time Claufield and Phoebe spent together. What an adobrable cute child Phoebe is. So much of loving, so much of a child, so much of sensible, so much of nonchalant.
Well, it's basically about two days in the life of a teen ager, going through a time of angst in his life and wandering off in NYC. His observations are mostly quite cut-throat cynical but at the same time hold some true at a certain social detachment level.
Sobz, Phoebe sometimes sound like you. Or you sometimes behave like her.
nonchalant is punjabi for budchalan auraat ... in english it means slut. Roman i dont know about you but i prefered * tarzan ki wapsi, umro ayaar ki behin ka intekaam * much better
