interesting to note that nothing in the OP suggests bad behavior on either side, yet most of us here are ONLY jumping to the ‘mistreatment’ bandwagon, implicitly suspecting the husband / in-laws to be abusive in nature. Why cant we also suspect that she had loose character and ran away after an illicit affair. Keeps things balanced, no? why the sympathetic vibes for the one running away along with her valuable stuff?

Why would they report her missing to the police or why would she care to leave a note if they did abuse her.

it cud be abuse and** sometimes its just that ppl marry for the GC and once they have it …its Hasta la vista and yes girls do it too.,.. not just guys**
