Lets have a lil discussion about the cars! Post a car that u’d like to have. But make it serious people. Dont post a lamborghini when you know ur gonna be flippin burgers at a burger king all ur life. Be serious.
Inshallah Ill be in the driver seat of a Saab 9-3 by the time my education is complete.
My Swedish friends rave about Saab... though I thought of them always as one of the ugliest cars around.
Saab 9-5 competes with Bimmer 3 series (atleast in their ads), but I find the comparison a bit odd. 3-series despite its small size is quite sporty and graceful.
Plus, ain't Saab now owned by General Motors? If not now, then in a few years, their quality might go down.
In the same price range, I will advocate VW Passat (loaded) or BMW 325i (base) or maybe Audi A4 (base). If you are into Japanese then Maxima is a good bet too.
I have little experience with American cars, except ocassional rentals, and I have almost always disappointeed by the quality of their interior materials and workmanship. I have driven Pontiac's Grand Prix and Dodge's Intrepid. Didn't like either. Stratus was a bit better (weight-power) but still no match to its Japanese or European counterparts in the same price range. American cars lose their value a lot, and the biggest reason for that is also the biggest reason people may buy them in the first place: amazing deals (like GM's new 0-0-0 going on these days).

Yes its a GM..but dont fear. GM makes a whole spectrum of cars. I say...dont buy a GM unless its a Cadillac, Saab or Hummer. Ive been into a Saab 9-3 and trust me it looks much much better than the bmw 3 series inside and out. DYK The BMW 3 series has been rated the gayest car by many car magazines. Yup...the 3 series..the Jeep TJ comes in first, but the 3 series aint that far away..i think 3rd.
Saab is a great car, but unfortunately North Americans dont know much about european cars, except that Mercedes-Benz and BMW are good cars.
Looks like a great car to me..though i am also one of those less-fortunate ones who believe Mercs and Beemers are good cars Waisay personally speaking i find smaller European cars cuter. Citroen and Golf, nahin?
Herez mine. The All new Civic VTI 2003. It’s a beauty and a rage for the last 3-4 years in Pakistan. Rrrrr :k:
Alright Mr. Desi…if u say so. ;)..hehe Honda..desi machine to the max. i can even smell curry when i go into honda dealerships, thats how many desis buy hondas.
Once I sell my Aztek (a piece of crap). I will buy Hyundai Santa FE. I know I am going for a cheaper company. But hey everything Accura or GM offer in their SUVs are in this Korean sweet-heart.
The looks are killer… I had MX-3, Talon, Celica and now Aztek…so you can think my taste is quite mixed.
Right now I am comparing all the SUVs or 4-door sportys. If you guys know a usefull website for US or Canadian buyers which gives tips or comparisions on different genre, please post the link here.
P.S: SantaFE won the best design in Detroit AutoAlliance Award last year among 40 SUVs.
I was also stated as the most sexiest SUV ever designed.
You know im not a Hyundai fan. Their cars are very cheaply made. I think ur looking for a cheap and fun SUV. Correct? Do you want to buy new? or wanna go used? Caus u can get a very good used suv for the price of the santa fe. If ur goin used…u can go to www.autotrader.ca they have a whole listin of used cars for sale in canada. enjoy.
Between German cars, I always find Mercedez to be over-priced, due to its famous name-tag but they are a full luxury brand. BMW is a real performance-luxury brand, that you can never go wrong with it. VW is the cheaper end of German perfection, with Audi as its rich cousin. Both are excellent options for those who can't or don't want to afford a BMW.
Saab and Volvo, Swedish brand is also good, though look-wise Volvo is much better, though its always a matter of personal choice. Volvo is now coming out with its SUV in 2003, and by the reviews it sounds quite amazing. Lower height and full of luxury, its not exactly for a lot of off-roading, but its a good bet for those who right now opt for RX-300 or ML-350 or even MDX. It will be in $35-40k range. For serious off-roaders, Range Rover/Land Rover, Xterra, Jeep and H2 ($52k) are better options.
smooth_guy, the best car website for comparison and a host of other information is www.edmunds.com and before buying any used car, a person should always check www.superpages.com to find out reviews and known problems.
In Japanese cars have u checked out teh lexus IS300 and the Infinity G35. The Lancer EVO VIII is coming out in USA. Some of these cars have never been in the US market. If anyone has driven the new Galant vr4 which doe snot come to US but is limited to Europe and Asia etc will know.
the choice of car really depends on what you are looking for, needs, budgets etc etc.
