phenomenal article. crux of the issue is that
*“The reality is that while many mainstream Muslims like to dissociate themselves from militancy, and for good reason, the theological distance between the two is disconcertingly small. Vast numbers of Pakistanis believe in the ultimate truth of their respective beliefs, to the clear exclusion of the others. An Islamic militant is someone who takes these views to their logical conclusion.”
*We need to create more space for self criticism for a progressive pakistan and islamic world. Islam is and will remain our identity but this identity needs to be in sync with the needs and demands of 21st century.
The cancer of militant extremism - The Express Tribune
Re: The cancer-of-militant-extremism
very well articulated. Specailly last para is very improtant. I wrote many a places u will find many ppl around u , who have the same thinking that of ISIS.
For me any one who is having a feel that mumtaz qadri was on the correct side has tendency to become an extremist. It is very correctly written that many moderate are not in a position to correlate the things correctly hence very much prone to be brain washed under some expert speaker ( e.g. amir liaqaut hanif qadri , many of sipah-e-sahaba ) . It is very important to stop these jihadi making machines rather than catching stray jihadis.
