Re: The Bride's Bag...

^ haha! i know...after my nikah.. the same year i wore 'eid clothes' and everyone at the mosque was like...'haww dulhan itni sadi' i was like..but my husband isnt even here...who am i supposed to dress for...?? but any way..i know what you guys mean...this time ill be ready for sure.. :)

Re: The Bride's Bag...

Girls tell me sumthing!!!!!! how do u get ur in laws to get u the bridal outfit u want????????...cuz in my case...its unfortunately the groom's family who makes brides outfits for both weddin n valima...while the bride's family makes it for groom...it doesnt make any sense but thts how it is!!

Re: The Bride’s Bag…

and why not lol? its the only opportunity :snooty: (well everyone’s different i know :))

Re: The Bride's Bag...

give them a picture of what you want....

Re: The Bride's Bag...

hmm you can always talk to your fiance if your comfortable and ask if you can go shopping with your MIL for your dress or something like that

Re: The Bride's Bag...

should i wait for them to ask me or just go ahead let them know thts wat i want!?

Re: The Bride's Bag...

That sucks!!! Get your parents on your side for htem to talk on your behalf...this is one really retarded custom. really needs to b eliminated. if ur fashion is that important to you, you should speak up and say something. orr else baad mein ull be pareshaan :p

Re: The Bride's Bag...

hmm no dont go ahead and tell them since that might be taken offensively (just incase)
ask your fiance first if you can compromise (how about giving money to each other instead)

Re: The Bride’s Bag…

your’e probably form Karachi right? I am suffering through the same tension… praying like anything to Allah SWT that my MIL gets me something nice… sometimes I’d think that I’ll get my Mum to tell 'em that we’ll get the bridal stuff, and they can buy whatever then want for their son… but I know when the time comes, I’m not gonna say anything and accept whatever it is they get me…

lets do an ijtema’e dua: Allah MiaN; whichever of my sisters are going to get their outfits from their in-laws, plz make it be nice… plz make our MIL pick out stuff that we’d like too, Amin.

Now everyone say Amin :snooty:

Re: The Bride's Bag...

you guys...i had the same problem....my MIL said she was making my nikah outfit..and when she described it to my mom...i freaked out...and asked them to drop the idea...saying that...i want to get it myself..she agreed..i had it made when i got to pakistan...(in 6 days)!! and we ended up paying for it.. :)

Re: The Bride's Bag...

^ how was it? (as she had described) :D

Re: The Bride’s Bag…

^i would’ve done the same thing…who cares about them paying or not , drop the whole idea and buy it yourself if there’s any problem and just eliminate the pareshani all together :snooty:

Re: The Bride's Bag...

tri-colored shalwar kameez with a net dupatta!!!! yikes..

Re: The Bride’s Bag…

well…the bride SHOULD have the right to decide what to wear and what NOT to wear on HER wedding day…i wasnt familiar with the custom…so i refused to have someone else pick out my clothes..heck..i dont even let my own mother do my shopping…

Re: The Bride's Bag...

how long does it usually take to get a bridal outfit done in paki on order?

Re: The Bride's Bag...

Re: The Bride's Bag...
