Yeah...just any cleaner that u can get from the store. There are so many brands and varieties.
They usually state that they're for the entire kitchen (including sink/stove/countertop). I know therea re some very mild cleansers that are made wiht basic home ingredients (baking soda/vinegar/water etc) but im not sure about those.

I tend to use the microwave cover..just turn it around, and it’s a nice size to hold everything

I keep a little plate with me for garbage but I throw it away in the bin each time after I cut/peel something. Onion.. peel the cover.. put in the plate, chop onions, throw the mess in the plate in the bin.. and then repeat with each veggie, fruit or whatever it is.

nopes.. very diff show structure but both do fast put together food items

and both equally irritating.. nigella i honestly think is gonna hava an orgasm right tehre on teh show, i wonderr if her cooking is really THAT good.. and well.. rachel is just a bimbo.

The first thing I put on the counter when I start to cook is the bin bowl...I can't cook with a cluttered counter top at all...

hmm I have always seen people around me use a 'chilkoun wali tokri', like my mother and other ladies in family and around.. never seen someone peel directly into bin, that sounds so inconvenient..back home, ladies sit in the veranda/sehan to make the vegetables and then go in the kitchen for cooking etc..specially in joint family it's a good gupshup time =)

I've seen Jamie oliver do that, throw stuff in sink and I wonder at times if he has a garbage bowl (or GB as per Rachel Ray)in the sink.. throwing in the sink again sounds pretty inconvenient and an extra chore if anything.

This after a friend was with me while I was cooking … she noticed that even though my bin is easy access , yet I keep a plate/bowl next to me all through the cooking process in which I throw off peels /garbage/left overs etc etc .. and then in the end throw it in the bin all together

I thought most people do it that way , coz its just ..erm .. convenient … but she said no.. thats laziness and wrong use of the bin !

My MIL was surprised as well when I cooked for her in Pakistan … so do you guys use a bin bowl or not?

Interesting I only seen Rachel Ray do it on her cooking show. But it makes sense instead of going to waste bin for every bit of garbage…

i do that too but mostly because my daughter is trash can dushman so i keep it out of her sight and use a little bowl for peels and stuff.

I place my chopping board on a newspaper, and peel/chop on top of that, so all rubbish goes directly onto the paper, which I throw out when done.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a spoon rest plate, to rest spoons on when cooking?

i have a cup/mug nearby, so that when i need to add water to my food, i don’t have to go running to the sink. that serves as a place for me to put my doi
