Re: The book vs the movie
I love to read, so I always prefer the book to the movie.
However, I think The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was done really well. There was a lot that was left out, however with such a long book you could not possibly put all the events/detail in the movie.
*I forget the name of the Dan Brown book/movie, not Angels and Demons, the other one. But that was done well as a movie as well, I thought. * Otherwise, I liked the book better and thought it was way better in these cases:
Twilight The Help Namesake Kite Runner
Cant think of anymore right now....
The Da vinci Code, maybe?

Re: The book vs the movie
Books. Unless the book is crappy, in which case the movie has a good chance of being better.
I read and enjoyed harry pothead but they weren't well written books. The movies, although they weren't all that true to the books were well made and more enjoyable to watch than the books often were to read.
One of my biggest bugbears is LoTR. I want to smack people in the face when they say how amazing they think the movies were. Even just considering them on their own, they were **** and Peter Jackson is a hack of a director. As movies of the trilogy, they make me cry.
Re: The book vs the movie
For me it depends, lord of the rings is the only series I read after watching the movies and I found it very very tedious and didn't finish it.
All the other books I read before the movies and the latter never lived up2 my imagination sadly. Also I get very irrationally upset if my idea of the characters or scenes is not translated well into the movies. Minute details like colour of eyes bug me and I can't enjoy the movie.
Re: The book vs the movie
I loved atonement; both the book and the movie

… It is so easy to tell when you are telling the truth … Your truth I mean … It is usually the shortest, least difficult way to get there … Good on you for the courage in speaking your mind.
Let's play!

Re: The book vs the movie

ps. i did not need any kind of courage to say what i said unless it was something ‘i’ll literally get killed for saying that’.
Re: The book vs the movie

Re: The book vs the movie
You guys should read the Godfather books, and explain to my why Sonny's junk is given so much attention.
Re: The book vs the movie
The Da vinci Code, maybe?

Okay hold on there what was wrong with the LOTR movies? The movies were as true to the books as humanly possible.
