The Book of Allah, and my progeny???

The messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) said:

“I am leaving for you two precious and weighty Symbols that if you adhere to BOTH of them you shall not go astray after me. They are, the Book of Allah, and my progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt. The Merciful has informed me that These two shall not separate from each other till they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise).”

Re: The Book of Allah, and my progeny???

Here we go again. Two things are the Quran and his Sunnah. There is no concept of progeny/badshahat in Islam. If it was indeed intended to be so, Allah would have let his sons live and all will be well with you Shias.

Thank you

My dear brother by declareing these writers liers, you sect is in danger, bcoz you are standing on there pillars of Ahadith.

Please say some thing about these writers:

Muslim bin Hajjaj in Sahih, Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal in Musnad, Hafiz Abu Nu'aim in Hilyatu'l-Auliya; Ibn Abdi'l-Birr in Isti'ab; Abu Bakr Khatib Baghdadi in Ta'rikh-e-Baghdad; Muhammad bin Talha Shafi'i in Matalibu's-Su'uli; Ibn Athir in Nihaya; Sibt Ibn Jauzi in Tadhkira; Ibn Sabbagh-e-Makki in Fusulu'l-Muhimma; Allama Nuru'd-Din Samhudi in Ta'rikhu'l-Medina; Seyyed Mu'min Shablanji in Nuru'l-Absar; Imam Fakhru'd-Din Razi in Tafsir-e-Mafatihu'l-Ghaib; Jalalu'd-din Suyuti in Durru'l-Mansur; Imam Tha'labi in Tafsir-e-Kashfu'l-Bayan; Tabrani in Ausat; Hakim in Mustadrak, Volume 3, page 151; Sulayman Balkhi Hanafi in Yanabiu'l-Mawadda, Chapter 4; Mir Seyyed Ali Hamadani in Mawaddatu'l-Qurba, Mawadda 2; Ibn Hajar Makki in Sawa'iqu'l-Muhriqa under verse 8; Tabari in his Tafsir as well as his History; Muhammad bin Yusuf Ganji Shafi'i in Kifayatu't-Talib, Chapter 100, page 233. Many other great scholars of your sect have related that the *Holy Prophet said: "The likeness of my Ahle Bait is that of the Ark of Noah. He who gets into it is saved; he who turns away from it will be drowned and lost."
*

Imam Muhammad Bin Idris Shafi'i has referred to the authenticity of this hadith in his couplets which Allama Fazil Ajib recorded in his Zakhiratu'l-Ma'al. Imam Shafi'i, who is recognized as one of the distinguished religious scholars of the Sunni sect, admits that our attachment to the purified family of the Prophet is the means of our deliverance because, of the seventy sects of Islam, the sect which follows the descendants of the Prophet is the only one to secure deliverance.

Re: The Book of Allah, and my progeny???

Bhai Sahib, I am not going into discussion with you about Ahl-e-bait… you shias believe your stuff and let me believe what I believe. Ahl-i-bait to me was all of the companions that accepted Islam while in presence of Hazrat Muhammad:saw:. You can spin it any way you want and restrict it to Hazrat Ali you want and be happy. The fact remains that I do not and I emphasize do not need anything other than Quran and Sunnah to be a successful muslim. Now go ahead and put your political and religious spin on it and tell me how I will burn in hell for saying that.

LOL, great answer. Yes Kaleem you're going to hell. I'll be joining you there as well.

:)

On the contrary there is no major Sunni beleif that relies only on Ahadith ye there are many shia beleifs that rely solely on Ahadith.

Re: The Book of Allah, and my progeny???

so compared to this small number of scholars, how many scholars have u found reporting the two things as "quran and sunnah"????

the problem with u people reporting is that when (for example) a guy called Mr. ABC says in his book that "someone has mentioned that Mr. XYX cud fly, but this is a weird thing to say" u people forget to read his comments and go around saying that Mr. ABC has claimed in his book that Mr. XYZ cud indeed fly....

ofcourse u know that most common people who read these things r never going to verify even one of the references u quote....

Ok dear Armughal,

Lets speack from Quran about Prophet Family:

To those that argue with you concerning Jesus after the knowledge you have received say : Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves . We will pray together and call down the curse of Allah on every liar ." Suratu Aali Imran 3:61

If Jesus had a right to be called the son of God just because there was no father than Adam deserved the title more as he had no father nor mother. The Christians could not answer to this argument , but they still continued in their belief and continued to argue. Then the aya of Qur'an 3:61 (above) was revealed to the Prophet inviting the Christians to a Mubahila where the curse of Allah would be on the liars

The Christians accepted the challenge and went back to where they were staying. Abu Harith advised them; telling them that if the Prophet (S.A.W.) brought warriors and officers to the field of Mubahila the his claim to Prophet hood was untrue; but if he brought his children and dear ones than it would mean that he was a true prophet.

Next day at the appointed hour the Prophet (S.A.W.) arrived at the place where Mubahila was going to take place with Imam Husayn (A.S.) in his arms, Imam Hasan (A.S.) holding his other hand and followed by Bibi Fatima (A.S.) and Imam Ali (A.S.) He had told them that when he raised his hands in prayer they were to say 'Ameen'(So be it).

The Christians watched the Prophet (S.A.W.) and his Ahlul bayt walking towards the appointed place. Abu Harith asked a local person who the people were who were walking with the Prophet (S.A.W.) He was told of their names and their relationship with the Prophet (S.A.W.)

Abu Harith told his colleagues: "I see such faces that if they raise their hands in supplication and pray to God that the biggest mountain may be moved from its place, the same will happen immediately. We should in no circumstance engage in a Mubahila with these sacred people because it is possible that .....not even one Christian may remain alive on the face of the earth .
]
*MORE OVER : *
*The Messenger of Allah recited "Verily Allah intends to keep off from you every kind of uncleanness O' People of the House (Ahlul- Bayt), and purify you a perfect purification". (Quran, the last sentence of Verse 33:33) and then the Messenger of Allah said: "Thus Me and my Ahlul-Bayt are clear from sins." *

Armughal if you thing outher wives of Prophet are in Ahle Byte Then please below: where Allah Subhana Wa Tallah Clearly Threathen these wives:

Again Allah is threatening the wives of the Prophet that they will receive a double punishment if they have misconduct, while giving glad tidings that the good wives of the Prophet will receive twice reward. You see, God is selective toward the wives of the Prophet (PBUH&HF), but you are not! Please check the traditions narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari on the misconduct Aisha and Hafsa, This is exactly what I mean by non-pious. If the Allah threatened Aisha and Hafsa by divorce, because they backed each other against the Prophet (PBUH&HF), then how can we render them as pure? The verse of Quran tells us that Ahlul-Bayt are perfectly pure.

According to the traditions in Sahih al-Bukhari, Hafsa is swearing by Allah that she argues with the Prophet (PBUH&HF) and keeps the Prophet angry for the whole day. Umar is advising her not to imitate Aisha who is proud of her beauty! Are these attitudes signs of perfect purity mentioned for Ahlul-Bayt? Perhaps you might want to also look at the history, and see who rode the Camel and allowed shedding the blood of ten thousand Muslims. I also would like to remind you there have been some prophets in the past that some of their wives were not pious. Among them are the wife of Prophet Noah, the wife of Prophet Lot, and so on. Allah informed those prophets that those wives who don't follow your instructions are not related to them and they will perish along with the rest of people. Non of those prophets took it as insult.

Please brother come Quran source for discussion

Re: The Book of Allah, and my progeny???

HealtyMind.
Allah said in Quran to kuffar lakum deenakum , walee- ya deen .
If Allah is so lenient to kafirs then why you do not give break to your Muslim brothers and sisters and trying to shove your philosophy down their throats.

You keep believing in what you believe and let other Muslims believe in what they believe. You have the full right to try to convince others , but if they are not convinced , it is not their fault. It is because either your logic/knowledge is faulty or Allah wants it that way.
These matters you are trying to bring back into discussion have been settled hundreds and thousands of years ago. You cannot convince other Muslims to believe in what you believe. Put your energies to convey your message to lots of non-Muslims out there , you will be rewarded highly for that effort.

May Allah guide us to the right path. Ameen.

Re: The Book of Allah, and my progeny???

No doubt Quran, Prophet Muhammad 's Sunanh and ahl-e-bayt are all important for us muslim, There is concesus among muslim ahl-e-bayt were pouis people and their wisdom is un-matched.

Heatlymind - there is no need to bring forth centuries old debate. This has already been discussed few dozen times on this forum already. The hadees in first post is present in Sahi muslim with slight variation of wordings ( i dont exactly remember that) so I dont think we have any issue with this report.

So instead of indulging in useless debate why dont you start a thread abut virtues, sayings , life story, and struggle of these noble Ahle-e-bayt in Allah wasy so that we get some motivation and actually try to follow them :flower1:
