“The Bombay Project”
The Bombay Project is a feature film about an aspiring film student and his struggle to find acceptance in a foreign land, INDIA. Mike, a film student at Hudson University, is sent to Mumbai, India against his wishes to assist a graduate student, Rahul, in the making of a “Bollywood” movie. Mike´s aversion to India is only reinforced as he struggles to adapt to the Indian way of life, and inadvertently makes an enemy of Rahul´s best friend and leading actress, Preeti. But the magic of “Bollywood”, that Mike detests, ultimately begins to win him over, as he finds himself falling in love with Preeti. However, when Rahul´s parents return with unexpected news of an arranged marriage between Rahul and Preeti, tensions run wild. Mike is forced to make a momentous decision; will he sacrifice his new-found friendship with Rahul to follow his heart? Mike´s trip to Mumbai, which began as an unwanted college project turns into a dramatic and spectacular love story, only to end where it began, with an unexpected twist of fate.
