Re: The Body Shop
I dont like their BodyShop brand scrubs but their African Spa scrub is awesome.
I love the smell!
Re: The Body Shop
Actually If you visit The BodyShop in Pakistan, the prices converted to Western currency of every product converts to the same. So thats good.
yup true, but still it feels expensive here for some reason.
Re: The Body Shop
Maham: I don't know much about their 'Body Focus' Line, but use olive oil for the 'skin changes' during weight loss- helps to reduce stretch marks.
olive oil as in the oil or the body lotion...n wat if my purpose is 2 prevent not cure cuz i dun have any as of now...
Re: The Body Shop
acha wat wud u recommend for pigmentation problem....lol
Re: The Body Shop
Olive oil can be used BEFORE weight loss so that the skin is not dry and fully moisturised- dryness causes the lower eperdermis to break and cause stretch marks. Used after, it'll keep your skin nice and supple.
I use extra virgin olive oil (the cooking one) on dry parts of my body- feet, elbows, knees, etc.
It might be a bit rich, but try it anyway.
Btw, I'm no dermatologist but I would recommend a REALLY good sun lotion for your pigmentation problem- it'll stop the dark areas getting darker in the sun and will protect your skin against the dangers of the sun, e.g. aging, age spots, etc. Try a moisturiser with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of at least 15.
I need to follow my own advice! Lol!

^ hehe...tx girl!
Re: The Body Shop
I used to work for the Body Shop 2 years ago. I have to say that apart from their eyeshadows and make brushes, I'm not too impressed with their products. Their body butters are okay but I feel as though they are over rated- not as moisturising as the company claims. The company plays on the tag that their products are natural and whilst they do include natural ingredients in their products, these quanties are very small, e.g. their strawberry shower gel smells like strawberries from afar but come closer and it has a very synthetic smell. As for their moisturisers- don't get me started! They are SO not geared up for today's skin- some that are meant for 'dry' skins are REALLY greasy whilst those for 'oily/combination' skins can be drying. As an employee, I was asked to wear their make up and use their products- whilst body products were ok (I've tried better), I was allergic to their foundation- so beware!
After I left, I bought in bulk their eye-shimmers (REALLY long lasting- I still have mine) and make-up brushes for me and my friends- they're definately worth it.
As a whole and as with any other shop/brand, I feel they do some good products (e.g. eye-shadows, brushes), but they're not a company I would keep going back to. My grooming products contain an eclectic mix from various stores/brands- variety, afterall, is the spice of life!
Sometimes cheap products are a godsend, e.g. Nivea, Vaseline, Ponds, Boots, etc- paying alot for a product does not necessarily mean it's good. Loads of magazine articles should back me up on this!
oh absolutely totally agree with you! my beauty products are mix of stuff too, and my best friend is the cetaphil moisturizer. a huge bottle for like $15, which gives such good results. and then another $10 on vitamin e oil, which is like extreme moisturizing.
i generally buy makeup stuff from body shop. i have their eye shimmer, their lipglosses and makeup brushes at the moment. the rest of the stuff looks good, but i find alternatives that are cheaper and probably just the same if not better.
Re: The Body Shop
^^ Oh cool! I've got really sensitive skin that reacts to nearly everything I'd love to try the Cetaphil moisturiser because I've heard they're non-comedogenic (don't block pores) and really moisturising but we can't get them in England! Oh well! Back to my tried and tested products! x
Re: The Body Shop
their lipstain is like my best friend. their 24 hr treatment lotion with kinetin is godsend..i love the scent and it actually make s a difference in my skin. their honey brazil nut shampoo is pretty good for dry hair. they also make this highlighter called 'glow enhancer' which is beautiful. i also have a rose cassis body perfume oil which is very nice and not overpowering at all.
stuff i didnt like too much..their wise woman skin creme...nothing to rave about. their lip butter made my lips even more chapped. their olive oil shampoo kinda stinks (literally) their eye shimmers didnt work for me. their vitamin c based facial cleanser broke me out. the tea tree line does NOT work for me either.
havent tried their body butters but they smell nice esp the mango one. also wanted to try their lip scuff.
Re: The Body Shop
^ Whats a lip scuff? is that like a new loofah thinggy for chapped lips?
Re: The Body Shop
its a greenish lip balm with scrubbing beads in it and it comes in the form of a lipstick tube. you apply it like a lipstick and then rub lips to exfoliate them.
Re: The Body Shop
Oh my, "scuff" is real? i thought you meant lip STUFF and I was just making fun....
Re: The Body Shop
ohh I want to try
Re: The Body Shop
Cetaphil Rocks ![]()
Re: The Body Shop
what is cetaphil?
Re: The Body Shop
Its a product for sensitive skin, moisturizer, soaps, washes.
Just divine.
Re: The Body Shop
does it help with breakouts?
Re: The Body Shop
Its designed for it, as it doesnt clog pores.
Read it for yourself, I started using it after I was fedup with spending a fortune on Dermalogica and MD products and Ive never looked back, Infact my skin is way better now than it was when I was spending 100 bucks on MDs cleanser alone ![]()
