What a shameful strategy to curb differences of opinion and opposition for wutever reason. Just shows Pakistan doesn’t flog bloggers. It eradicates blogging altogether. But how different are they from monarchs in rest of the world?
Can someone tell these morons that Censoring content on the internet, blocking it,forces people to move towards finding a solution to circumvent these bans?!!
According to multiple localoutlets, WordPress blogs are currently not accessible in Pakistan and pointing the blockage at the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). TechCrunch has not been able to confirm that yet. As it stands right now, WordPress.com and blogs hosted by WordPress cannot be reached. Self-hosted WordPress blogs still work.
The error above is currently displayed when attempting to access a WordPress site in Pakistan.
The Pakistan government has a history of temporarily blocking websites including Facebook, Flickr, IMDb, Twitter and Wikipedia. Other times, the government reportedly stated a ban will be temporary, but as is the case with YouTube, the ban is ongoing. The government states these sites, and many others, host content that it sees as blasphemous and inflammatory.
Several local news outlets cite sources in the PTA that state the ban will be temporary and could be lifted within several days. TechCrunch has reached out to several companies including WordPress for more information.
Re: The blogging site Wordpress.com blocked in Pakistan
And people ***** at me for saying if you don’t live in the country you don’t know jack **** about what goes on there. So a media report says Wordpress is blocked. People in Pakistan say its not. Who is right?
Goes to prove as well that people rather believe the worst about Pakistan then believe the truth.
Re: The blogging site Wordpress.com blocked in Pakistan
Because since 2007 I have spent on average 5 months out of the year (every year) in Pakistan. Before that I lived in Pakistan. My permanent address is Pakistani. My passport is Pakistani. Yours isn’t.
In a few days you can check my IP address like Shamraz to confirm for yourself.

lol... and you assume only "you" spend so much time in Pakistan?! Well, as far as making assumptions are concerned, you are definitely a true Pakistan! Cheers :D

And you don't. We all know that. Here is the simple fact SID. I am rather honest about my real life. You aren't. You aren't because you don't spend as much time there :) Snarky comments do not change reality and this thread is a perfect example of that.
Edit: Also to point out you bounce between calling me a true Pakistani or a foriegner whenever it suits your needs mainly focused on insulting me. Rather hypocritical for a mod, but then again Mods on Paklinks have a very low standard for integrity.
Re: The blogging site Wordpress.com blocked in Pakistan
lmao.. you really took few posts today to start bashing mods which i saw coming right from the begining.
And I’m not even saying anything i’m trying to apply your point on yourself and thats it. Whether its being inside/outside Pakistan or making assumptions or anything else. Just look at your own posts and I sincerely hope you’ll notice how you call others knowing jack, dishonest and what not while reflecting yourself as the honest, knowledgeable, patriot and what not!! Again, applying your point on yourself, nothing else. Sorry if it looks like as an insult to you but actually it isnt!!
