Munni, take a class on birhting and all will become clear. You should have your partner there and if you nudniks think that you want to be all alone...there are going to be nurses, doctors, people coming in and out all having differnt responsibilities to make sure that your child arrives in this world safely. Fathers play and important role in this. Leave the tribal thoughts for pehawar. Your husband would want to be there unless he is from there.

Call me stubborn, but I'm still gonna go it alone! Even if I have to give birth in secret. smile
^ I won't call you stubborn, I will call you callous and foolhardy for not caring about the health and life of the baby and depriving a father of an experience that will not only bring you two closer but make him a part of an experience that he richly derserves adn should be a part of. I am chalking your comments up to the naivette of youth and sheer inexperience in the world of relationships.

You may call me callous and foolhardy, sure. But then I didnt want to elaborate on what is meant by being "alone".
What I do will not always please everyone, or even those very close to me. But then we are all selfish and foolish at times.

I would only want myself and the baby there. No hospitals, no doctors, no mid-wives, no family immediately around.

Believe me, once you're in labour you're going to want someone there with you, especially your husband.....they're quite handy to have around to shout at!
AvgAmericanGirl, I agree with you, being in labour is painful enough as it is without someone filming the whole event. And besides I'm not sure what kind of situation would warrant you wanting to show the film to others.
I suppose some mothers think maybe their child will want to view the film of their own birth when they are older but then again, if you were the child in question would you want to see the film?
