Multi Billionaire Mike Bloomberg said today he plans on being mayor for the next 925 days in an attempt quash any idea that he plans on running for president. After his surprise announcement yesterday that he was leaving the GOP party and becoming and independent a wave of speculation grew that he is indeed preparing to enter a crowded race to become the next U.S. president.
Running as an independent Bloomberg can wait until summer 2008 to announce his entry into the race as most state laws do not require any paperwork to be filed until then by 3rd party candidates. With over $5 billion dollars Bloomberg could easily eclipse the spending of any other candidate, he spent $85 million of his own money in 2005 to become re-elected as NYC mayor.
So Bloomberg tells us he plans on being mayor for the next 925 days, he just left out he plans on being the ‘Mayor of America’.
Can he pull it off?
Would he be willing to be a VP?
Would he grab a current candidate and make him or her his VP selection?
