Apparently, the biggest iftar in the world is held at Makkah every year. The tablecloth that is laid out along Masjid-al-Haram is over 12,000 meters long! The iftar meal is quite simple and consists of zamzam water, dates (over 5 million consumed daily!), juice, milk, fruits and cakes. The meal is sponsored by various benefactors and its daily cost amounts to about 1 million Saudi riyals. It is not allowed to bring any food other than dates and coffee into the Holy Mosque to maintain the cleanliness of the Haram area but in the surrounding areas they do serve rice etc too. Iftar does not take more than 15 minutes - from the time that people stretch the tablecloths out to the clearing of the remaining food. Everything is cleaned up as fast as possible in order to leave room for people to perform Maghrib prayers.
Can't see the video, but it's amazing.

I still can’t get over the amount of dates eaten! 150 million+ each Ramadan in Makkah alone!
I know it probably comes to about 3 dates per person but wow that’s a LOT of khajoors for a month!
