Baby Names

Hey Everyone!

I am due to give birth to our second child very soon and my husband and I have narrowed our baby name list to the following: For a girl, we have chosen the names Amelia, Ariana and Inaaya and for a boy, we have chosen the names Adam, Daud, and Zane. We will make our final choice after the baby is born; however, I would love to hear what everyone from our own community feels on our name choices. Please feel free to express your opinions and suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Re: Baby Names

We just named our daughter Enaya. :D

All the names are nice.

Re: Baby Names

Enaya is beautiful.
I like Amber, Alisha, Sophia and Tania too.

Re: Baby Names

I have decided tehreem or tahoorah for a baby girl and shayaan or shahaan for a boy :)

is this a muslim name? what does it mean?

Re: Baby Names

^ Feminine of Enayat -- gift/blessing from God.

Re: Baby Names

Sahar02...You have picked a beautiful name for your daughter! My husband and I absolutely love the name, but my main hesitation is the way it may be mispronounced. Have you had to correct many people on the pronunciation of the name?

I also have the same issue with the name Daud. Both my husband and I love the name, but most people in the western world pronounce it Dod and I don't like the sound of that.

Re: Baby Names

I like Inaaya and Zane

Sahar...Enaya is a beautiful way to spell it too.

Re: Baby Names

What does Zane mean? Is it Zain?

Everyone, Muslim and non, has loved the name Enaya. No trouble with pronounciation.

Re: Baby Names

For a girl:

Hana
Shanaya/Shania
Inaaya/Inaya

For a boy:
Ayaan

my dad's name is Daoud, and no one pronounces it Dod lol, rather Dowd, rhymes with proud lol :)

Re: Baby Names

sahar02...Do you know the meaning of Zain / Zane?

sazzie...that is great to know! I must have asked all the wrong people...lol. I do like the spelling as your Dad has it...never thought of that.

I wish there was a way to do a poll on here to see which of the three names for both boys and girls seems to be the most popular...Any idea if that can be done? Otherwise, maybe everyone can state which of the three girl names (Amelia, Ariana and Inaaya) and boy names (Adam, Daud and Zane) you like best...:)

No replies...:(
I would love to hear your opinions on our name choices...:)
Thank you in advance

Re: Baby Names

Inaaya is a beautiful name but here in Pakistan is way too popular. Amelia sounds too western. I like Ariana the best, espeically coz it's equally acceptable in both the east and west.

Adam and Zane (we spelled it Zayn) were on our list for my first born. He ended up being Ahyaan. So obviously I Love both these. I like Adam better I guess.
