My baby girl is nearly 5 months old mashAllah and we named her Eshaal 
it means a flower of heaven in arabic I believe.

I’d like some suggestions for boy’s names that are cross-cultural, like Gabriel. all i have so far is Eesa and if hubby vetoes it, we’re so out of luck. help!

I was gonna say- it’s hardcore Arabic! It’s nice but there is no way hubby would be cool with that and it’s a bit much for me too. I do love Noah though but then I feel like Gabriel and Noah together is very Anglo esp paired with a non desi last name so where does the “desi-ness” come in?

I like Daniyaal too but as Daniyaal not Daniel. Hrm, gonna run that past hubby. Benjamin is too Anglo again. Jeez- let’s hope it’s a girl!

lots of desis naming their kids Noah these days. I know of 4 in the past couple of years, and one is in Pakistan! I love Nyle also. I have a morrocan friend who named her son that…and another Pakistani couple here in the states and one in Karachi that just named their sons Nyle.
