My son's name is Rayaan and now I am 17 weeks pregnant with a baby girl! really really excited...
I have a little list of name here...
Meesha- pretty
Sheza- Light, Noor
Mishal- Light
Alishba- Beautiful
Funny thing is all these names have pretty much the same meanings lol

I wanted to name our son Omer but I wasn't given a choice and when he was born my father in law named him Ismail. I didn't like it in the beginning but it grew on me. Trust me it's not a big deal. But if the names are already taken than I will def have a talk with my husband and make sure he talks to his parents.

I agree with you.. but in their family its a trend to keep jus abt any nice islami name even if its alrdy taken.. but I feel a name is an identity and everybody should have a different spclly in the samr family atleast. . Like in the same house of my immediate inlaws 3 girls have the same name. N its so annoying cuz no one can figure out whixh one of the three is being mentioned in so n so situation :/

We wanted to name our baby Zidane. If it had been a boy.
My wife, this was her heart's desire to name our baby a name starting with the letter 'Z'. I couldn't go against it of course :@:
So, we decided to name our baby boy Zidane, And if it was a girl, then it had to be a name starting with 'Z' as well. So we went searcing for names and meanings. It couldn't be just a ransdom name just for the sake of it.
And MashaAllah, Allah gave us a girl. So out of many names, we decided on one. :)

I'm not crazy about Zidane.....especially if the "a" and silent "e" in dane produce a long vowel as in the word, "same." Then it sounds almost like an African Amer name.

can you spell the word in Urdu...does it start with letter "AIN" or "ALIF"?...Emaad starts with AIN and means pillar...Emaad uddin means the pilar of deen.

Hamd karna means to praise. The name Hammad means praise or one who praises. So, maybe Ammad is derived from that. But if it means praise......then I don't think it specifically means to praise Allah, but praise in general. This is just a guess of mine because I think it becomes specific to Allah when you attach Allah to it...like humdolillah. Like the name Abid means worship or worshipper....in general. If the name is Abdullah....then it's servitude/worship specific to Allah.

^ these are Islamic istilaaHii terms...meaning is one thing and it's association and application is yet another, at elast for Muslims...Abid means worshipper but you will never find a sentence using this term for a non Muslims by Muslims. there is no such thing as Abid Hindu, Abid Iisaanii...
i never heard Ammad name before. Amaad [pillar] yes...starts with the letter "AIN"...Hammad is another name altogether as you said means the one who praises.
Ammad could be PLURAL for:
AMAD =intention
AMADAN = intentional

Make the name they suggest his middle name. No need to say anything just say thik hai n wen baby is born take their suggested name and make it the middle name. Alll shud b happy.

^ Then won't it be unfair with the child parents will call him with the first name and grandparents with middle name. If they(grandparents) are paindoo they won't understand and like the concept of middle name.
