The Big Thread of Baby Names

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Really like some of the names… Good selection :biggthumb:

I started a tread but didnt get many replies :frowning: Can anyone explain the meaning of the name zawiya? I’ve googled it and the meaning I get is ‘slim beauty’. I cannot comprehend the meaning so any help would be great!

Also if anyone knows of any authentic source of the name Abeeha being Bibi Fatima’s (R.A.) title?

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

I personally would not like to name my baby zawiya becausw of what it means.
I like abeeha a lot more

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Thanks for your reply yanzala... I like abeeha too but read that there is no authentic source and on a stand alone basis it would then mean 'her father' which again is not a good name!

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

I really wanted to name my daughter Abeeha, but after asking an Imam about it's meaning he said it's a word, not really a name, which means permissible in Arabic. Also, he said there's no authenticity in the name being used for Fatima Zahra (as)

Re: Baby boy names

Sgc i thnk this dude trying to be funny if u cant write anything decent dont bother commenting indigo rain

He is noting that shahmir sounds a lot like shmear....aka bagel spread. This is something you have to keep in mind, depending on where you live.

perfectly fine names don't work in some places...like fakhar, or anis in USA or some Arab naming the kid bandar in Pakistan.

Re: Baby boy names

^Yup, that’s it. Much obliged to you, sir. :hat:
