re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Love all your choices! We have similar taste in names :D

I really like Azlan, but my concern would be its use in the Narnia books. I don't know how much it will matter for the future generation, especially since the character is a good one.

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

^ true! i wonder...

i have a friend named Mayeda but she spells it Maida, which I guess could be taken for the flour that you make phulki's out of lol. So nevermind that spelling.

I also love:

Arissa
Amani
Eliana
Ariana
Mehreen
Minahil
Mahhum
Haniya

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

^ sgc- are you telling us something with all these girl names ? ;)

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

My girl's name is Mahveen and I really loved it

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Nabz, Lol no! :p

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

I love Azlan...my son's name is Ayyan...

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Thanks for taking the time out to respond everyone!

Thanks S02. :-) And I see what you mean about Azlan. I do love the name but the lion's name is Aslan in the movie / books. I wonder if it's a name kids would make fun of?

I really like some of your suggestions SCG. I'm adding them to my list also! I like: Arrisa, Eliana, Ariana & Minahil.

Also, my mother in law loves Daoud but I'm on the fence about the name. What do you guys think? I like Hadi much better; I found it myself and my sister in law suggested it too. I really like Rayyan also.

For a girl, my sister in law suggested Alina, Aiza and Aleeza. Personally, so far I like Raania the best. Thoughts?

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Raania is a pretty name for a girl and so is Minahil (It was a close second when we were picking out names for our daughter who btw is Eshaal...:)).

Will you be finding out the gender or want it to be a surprise...??

For boys i like:
Hanzala
Huzaifa
Ibrahim
Moosa
Gurls
Rania is a nice name

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

I’m curious about the meanings of some of these names - I know they’ve likely been posted before, but do you mind posting them here :sheen:

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

Hi Chips6. I will be finding out the gender for sure. I'm too impatient to wait 40 weeks without knowing! lol I've heard that they can make a mistake when checking though. I wonder what's the chance that ultrasound tech / doc is correct? Hopefully more than 50 - 50.

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names

I think we shoukd have one sticky thread for names. I Iove discussions on names and with so many new members who are expecting babies it will be really nice to look in one place rather than making a new thread everytime.

My favrite name for boys are zeyad and Eyad.
Zeyad is a bame of a sahabi and I used to work with a guy name Eyad he was from syria.
For girls I like the name Anabia and Muzainah.

re: The Big Thread of Baby Names
