no offense, but most of these are really odd and unique names...as in they sound like names from Paki dramas!

YES. Lol. I really don’t like the trend going in Pakistan nowadays in regards to names…Yousuf, Yaqoob, Zain, Hamza, Ibrahim, Usman.. beautiful names of our prophets and great Muslim leaders yet everyone forgoes them for something from HumTV. I personally don’t like it at all.

personally not a big fan the funky desi dramafied names, still in love with the old school names such as Umar, Haaris, Yahya, Ali, Sulayman, Haroon, Eesa, Daud, Muwadh, Hashim, Yusuf etc

Nothing has happened to common names, it's just that common names are very common :) i mean to say we have like 5 bilal's in our family and still everyone wants a bilal or a umar.Seriously i can make a cricket team of bilal's and umer's from my family and there are a lot more other names that goes on and on.

Just don't do with the trend, suggest what you like.Personally i like unique but sensible names and there are many unique names of prophets and sahaba that we have not even heard and believe me they are also some with strange prounciations that has nothing to do with the humtv dramas.

as long as the meaning is good and it sounds nice to the ears.. anything goes. as for making fun of names... give me a name i cant make fun of... cmon... a name cant be awesome in every culture caste and creed. thats impossible.

The couple is looking for slightly uncommon names so that’s why; the common ones are beautiful no doubt but too done with.

I don't like the trendy names at all..all my children are named the 'oldie' names. I feel they are old, but still modern at the same time. I love, love, love my children's names. some may have 4 -5 Bilals in a family, but these names were a first for our families (both nanyaal and dadyaal).
Some names I know of that have been kept by my friends/community members..sorry cannot provide the meanings.
