My husband, kids and I are in the middle of our final move. We’re going to settle in the San Francisco Peninsula area. We’ll be living in the Burlingame/Millbrae area of California. I went there once last month and it’s really beautiful but very expensive. Since we lived in NYC for 5 years and LA for 2, the slower pace of Burlingame may take getting used to. But we really want a more suburban life now with baby #3 due in mid August.
Does anyone know the Peninsula area very well? Can you give me any insider information about things to do with kids. Safia is 5 and will start Kindergarten, Maya is 2 and another girl coming soon. We drove up to the city of San Francisco in about 20 minutes with no traffic. So I’m willing to make occasional trips up there with the kids. We liked Fisherman’s Wharf. I expect life will become pretty routine and scheduled once we settle there. And I won’t venture too far from home with a newborn. We’re also close to Silicon Valley. I’ve heard that Fremont has a big Afghani population. Anyone know about good halaal food/butchers or have other tips about the area.
