Mohsin, faisal is right on the mark except monthly salaries. Multiply faisal's numbers by 4 and you will come to more accurate salaries.

Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
Hmm.... I think a new CA in Pakistan makes about Rs 40-60k/per month. I really doubt the number has risen to Rs 160-240k/month. After a few years of professional experience, may be. Not right away.
Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
not really legbreakgoogly, i got my dad’s friends and a few of my cousins working for Rs.80,000/month and sometimes even a lot more than that.
Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
After living in england for 45 years, one of my uncle moved back to Pak just a few months ago and he said the same thing that the cost of living is way too high.
Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
How high?
Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
well he didn't tell me the exact numbers, but he was complaining about how corrupt the ppl are and everything else. i give him 6 months:D when i visited pak 5 yrs ago i was surprised at how Rs. 1000 literally had no value.
Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
Faisal,
Your friend is wrong, I am in Pakistan (Lahore) right now and Rs 100,000 a year for a family of four is way more than enough, they would be saving around 30K even if they live like Kings. Anything more than 50,000 is more than adequate for a family of 4. I am talking about Lahore, things can be different in other cities.
I was talking with my neighbour and he is earning 110,000 per month as a Managing director of a Multinational company in Lahore (He is in his 50s). His children are studying in top schools in Lahore. He himself admitted that he saves most of his salary as he has been given two feul paid company cars, house rent (he owns his house), drivers salary, house-maid salary etc etc by his company.
In my opinion, if a strater is getting anything above 30K per month in Lahore is adequate, anything above it is good. 100K for a starter is impossible. One gets 100K with at least 10 years (or more) experience.
Re: The Big 4 in Pakistan
I had kinda raised my eyebrow on the 100,000/month also. Seems fairly steep even with the cost of living as high as it is in major pakistani cities.
Speaking of which, is there a substantial cost of living difference b/w karachi/lahore/Islamabad?
