Its not religion that is the problem but the people. I live in the UK and there are countless problems since the separation of church and state. Some big issues are the breakdown of the family, materialism, crime, mental health issues to name but a few.

Look at all the developed countries of the world and see what role religion plays in the matters of the state in these countries. Or look at the countries of the world where religion plays a role in the matters of the state and check their development index. The role of Religions in state matters is a thing of the past. It ruins everything. Its a problem, rather then a solution. It divides rather than unites. It helps creating a culture where you cannot question (certain things, certain people) and thus allows abuse of the system by those elements. The solution would be a total opposite of this. A system where people have right of information and which promotes a culture of reasoning and questioning. Otherwise we’d have an ISLAMIC country but all the muslims of this country would be more willing to flee to an UNISLAMIC country for a better life.
