The Best News For Pakistan Cricket in 20 Years?

I am hearing that Imran Khan wants to become head of the PCB. If that is true I think that it’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time regarding the future of Pak cricket. I’ve said a long time back that rather than politics he’d be much better off doing what he knows best - sorting out the bigwigs in Pakistani cricket.

Good news indeed. Let's hope this happens.

GREAT NEWS!!!
If Mush was given the option.....i think he'd take Imran!!
hope it happens!

It's not all very good. Imran Khan will try to enforce his idea of county cricket idea and it should be welcomed while one has to remember that in the past one of the reasons for Pakistan not performing well was Javed Burki and Imran Khan's monoplistic nature.

If Imran is chosen for the chairman PCB position then Waseem should be the coach as the combination would be better.

It would be great if that happens, but I doubt that will happen. I read Imran's column and he said if the PCB approaches him for help, he will give it a serious thought, as its hard to take time out of his polictical life. He is afterall a member of the National assembly. Now having said that I think Musharaf should approach Imran and we need his no nonsense attitude at the moment. The respect he commands amongst the players is higher then anyone else.

We saw how the players were with Javed Miandad. Now Miandad has an excellent cricketing mind but I think what we need now is a leader. We all know Imran's leadership abbilities. If he becomes the PCB chairman I think he would be involved hands on in a lot of things including selection. Lets wait and see what happens.

Good news. But I would love to see him coach the team. Afterall, he is the only ex-captain in Pak team with a WC title under his belt.

Imran Khan cherishes tough challenges. I believe the stage is all set for him. Pakistani cricket is in the doldrums with the big stalwarts contemplating retirement. Common Imran!.

Wonderful news for Pakistani cricket, bad news for Pakistani politics, as he won't be able to give it that much time anymore.

Great news, lekin
khoshi say mar na jatay, agar a'atibar hota

That's a hella good news. Where did you hear it?

We need more people like Imran Khan in Pakistan and off course PCB is desperate for Imran Khan.

Imagine Javed Miandad as coach and Imran Khan as PCB head.

:k: Well said.

I hope he doesn’t try and persue both of them together…that would not be it i guess.

Imran Khan is an opposition MNA. In Pakistan, that pretty much sums up everything. Opposition MNA hardly have full time jobs, so I am sure it will work for Khan sahib.

The next WC is four years away. So that syncs very well with Khan sahib's tenure as an MNA too. Idher PCB udher NA. Balay balay!

The first order of the day, will be for PCB to get a good grip on the team and cricket. Get rid of super-stardom (not super-stars but just their nakhray and egos). Appoint a professional coach for cricketing affairs, and good batting and bowling coaches (from former cricketers with certification of coaching). Appoint a firm-hand as the Manager to keep players in check. Rid of all the free-riders from PCB whose only qualification is chaap-loosi and sifaarish.

Organize a good domestic set-up so we get a good nursery of talented players. And.. and .. and ..

Well, thats about it for the starters. :)

I think its like:

khushi se mar na jaate, agar ek baar hota

Have you guys heard of a player in the first class by the name of Yassir Hameed? I was looking up out future(because of the depression that this WC has caused us) and saw this cat. He put up 207 runs playing for PIA. Same team Mohammad Zahid is on.

I think we have some good talent in the minors/First Class. Let's see what happens for Sharjah.

I haven't see anything like this in the news, but if this is true than it is a great news and will definitly be good for Pakistan cricket. But I doubt it will happen.

Forget politics, Cricket Imran-Cricket!

he can work to route out the internal politics of the team....which has, on many ocassions been the reason for their bad performence!
this really is great news!

aray yaar... It shud b true but i dont think imran khan is gonna cum bcuz hez in politics at a very high level...
so lets hope for the best...

This will be the end of Cricket in Pakistan. Imran may have been a good player, but he is the one resposible for sowing the seeds of revolt and 'party baazi' in the present team when he influenced the PCB to make Waseem as captain and Waqar as vice captain for the tour to West Indies, although Miandad was the natural successor. Imran is one track minded and his only passion is to ****-up domestic cricket on regional lines. He should be kept away from cricket because he has ruined careers of many youngsters already. He should stick to politics were he is already behaving like a 'gawaachi gaan'.
