The best captains ever...for both Pakistan and India

Re: The best captains ever…for both Pakistan and India

Just 1.5 yrs after 1983 Worldcup, India dominated the Benson & Hedges Tournament ( also known as Mini worldcup) in 1985. No other team was even close to India in that tournament. India was unbeaten in that tournament. World Championship of Cricket - Wikipedia

uss team (80s) mein sirif dau legendary players they IK aur Miandad. The batting was nothing special apart from Miandad and Salim Malik. Like IK, Wasim Akram improved with time and became a better bowler and more consistent performer in the 90s. By contrast Waqar exploded from the outset but he played only a handful of tests under IK’s captaincy & mostly on the dead sub-continental tracks. So to win their first away test series in India and England and remain undefeated (under IK) against Windies in test series in the 80s was credit to both IK and the team.

Imran Khan for inspiring generations, not just eleven players on the field, and leaving a larger than life sporting legacy in the world of cricket. Pakistan cricket, in may ways is still stuck in Post-Imran hangover, and it’s not exactly a good thing, but certainly an indication of the kind of impact he had on Pakistan’s cricketing traditions and the of sportsmanship. Definitely a once in a lifetime personality, if not the player.

Dhoni, what a great HR captain he is? Really. The guy was at the peak of his superstardom. He was young, flamboyant, a reckless hitter of the ball and an absolute media darling, but the way he renounced his superstar status, ego and personality to become a mature and committed ‘players’ captain’ and team player is beyond remarkable. Indian cricket found itself in in a very delicate position when Dhoni took charge, they had internationally celebrated and towering cricketing legends in face of Sachin & Co, and at the same time you had young superstars to be players coming in with a clear hope and aim to replace the old sires. On paper, Indian cricket should’ve exploded into fracas of controversies, power struggles, ego clashes and disobedience and disorder, but full credit to Dhoni’s excellent people management skills for making India’s transitory period as smooth as he possible could. He made it look effortless, when it really wasn’t. There’s a reason why Dhoni is into his 7th year of captaincy and the road to become one of the greatest captains of modern cricket, and the likes of Afridi and Youvraj remained same old superstar brats.

How many legendary players we have in our current team ?

So you believe we always had the same fragile batting and bowling line like we have in our current team ? If yes! then I really accept your great knowledge of Cricket :salute:
