I read and completed many books during the year and my favorite is:

The Making of Exile: Sindhi Hindus and the Partition of India by Nandita Bhavnani

It is very well written and the best thing about the book is writer’s neutral approach to cover a controversial subject. No one comes out as villain after you finish the book. A very rare phenomenon in books related to partition.

no. Its long one. 352 pages.

Animal Farm is just 120 pages.

It is not about pages, it is the word count which determines the category. One can use different page size to increase or decrease the number of pages.

Short story: 1,500-30,000 words.
Novellas : 30,000-50,000 words.
Novels : 55,000-300,000 words.

However, I recommend not to cross from 90,000 words. 65,000 to 80,000 is an ideal range for any novel.

No publisher will take more than 90,000 words, as it will cost them more ink and paper.
