Re: THE BEST ANSWER CHALLENGE - MEHNAZ'S QUESTION::::::::::
what's the best way to deal with patches of no grass on your front lawn, particularly when all the squirrels come and eat whatever grass growing seeds you try and plant into the soil?
Re: THE BEST ANSWER CHALLENGE - MEHNAZ'S QUESTION::::::::::
my FIL had this guy come and make holes in our lawn and flipped the soil. I thought it looked gross and reminded me of doggy do, but a couple of days later, our lawn had rich green grass!
Re: THE BEST ANSWER CHALLENGE - MEHNAZ'S QUESTION::::::::::
afshi....I think you are talking about aeration......unless I am wrong, that doesn't help with patchy areas where there is no grass.
Mehnaz.....if the areas are not too big then the best option would be to buy the rolled up sod and lay it down. You are in a pretty mature neighbourhood with respect to trees and I'm sure that keeping the little critters away will be an impossible task. I wouldn't even try. Sod is not expensive but it will take some elbow grease to dig up the ground and discard some of the top soil that is currently in the patches but it is well worth it.
Re: THE BEST ANSWER CHALLENGE - MEHNAZ'S QUESTION::::::::::
make sure that you water according to the instructions that they give you at the nursery where you purchase the sod.......water is ultra-important when you are transplanting.
