The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

Any experiences here?

Who has it?

Is it better than using a brush for your foundation or just a regular makeup sponge?

Re: The Beauty Blender

I've also been wondering this. I've heard so much about it. The price has put me off buying it so far though.

Re: The Beauty Blender

They say once you start using it, you will never tough anything else again…:hmmm:

Re: The Beauty Blender

These BeautyBlender type sponges work great if you have dry skin because unlike the abrasive brushes, it doesn't mess up the dry texture of the skin so the foundation doesn't sit in the flakes or dry patches. A lot of makeup artists use this to cover psoriasis because anything else would lift the texture of the skin.

I think i'll give it a try this winter b/c my skin tends to get dry around the nose.

Re: The Beauty Blender

I use it everyday... I absolutely LOVE the finish it gives with foundation and somehow with the heavier foundation (think Dermablend) it covers everything and still looks like a natural finish. I use dermablend for events and stuff and using a brush with it makes it way to cakey. A BIG thumbs up from me though for the beauty blender.

Also I bought the 2 pack and like 6 months later I'm still using the one sponge.. it hasn't fallen apart or anything on me. I don't use the cleaner or anything.. just a bit of shampoo now and then.

Re: The Beauty Blender

Ooh ooh, i've seen this loads of times, but wasn't sure if it was any good. I dont tend to use sponges that much for foundation/blending etc, im more of a brush kinda person. Is it still good if you don't have dry skin then?

Re: The Beauty Blender

^^ I don't particularily have dry skin... My skin's normal and I still use it.

Re: The Beauty Blender

Mine is getting dry now. My cheeks feel like paper these days so I think I'll be giving it a go soon too. My only issue is, I haven't found it in stores...you have to order it online. :(

Re: The Beauty Blender

I had a makeup tutorial done at the salon a few months ago. We had a makeup artist come by and walk us step by step through an entire look...daytime and evening.

SHE had the beauty blender...and the model's face looked amazing. I never gave it much thought after that but I don't think I care much for foundation brushes anymore.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

Mario Dedivanovic used it on Kim K in a video and that's when I bought it. I got mine from ebay.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

the price is what gets me skeptical. Is it really that great?

Btw I have combination skin and in winters my skin tends to get to the dry side.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

^ The price is high for an applicator. I agree with you there. But if this thing lasts for even 6 months, it juuuuust might be worth it.

My foundation brush has lasted me a longggggggggggggg time (a good two years) but I paid about $40 for it.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

I've had mine for 6 months and it still has a long ways to go for me... or atleast it looks like it does. Although my sigma f80 brush will probably last forever without having to be replaced. Conversely, you could always try the Target Sonia Kashuk version.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

I've wanted to try it, but I just feel like it'd soak up so much foundation and I don't want a little rubber ball sucking up my already pricey foundation.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

^that's why you wet it and squeeze out the water so it's fluffy and damp, it doesn't eat up product that way.

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

I was intrigued by this..it would so help me apply foundation..im horrible at it :/ but the price just puts me off!

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

sorry, can i ask how much of that ?

Re: The Beauty Blender - the famous egg shaped applicator

I recently bought one, and I absolutely love it. I don't know how i lived without it for soo long!
