Well, we'll see about that, and since this thread is about Baseball, do you want to discuss the whopping that Giants inflicted on your Astros last week? :D
Seriously, Astros defence sucks. Their throwing is so weak.

Guys.. give me hope. :-(
Ok, so the only piece of good news is that Mets won against the Cubs. Otherwise its all disappointing. Dodgers took the series 2-1 and their Division lead is 2.5 (damn!). Giants are 0.5 behind Cubs and we now play Padres and Dodgers - both away series (double damn!).
A's fell to Anaheim again. Their lead is cut down some more (triple damn!). I have more hopes of A's making it to the play-offs than Giants. I dunno why. Maybe because I don't follow A's games as closely. :-D
Together with Warriors and 49ers, this year is shaping up to be pretty rough for the Bay Area. Only Raiders are performing nicely.

It is going to be very tough for Giants from here. They should have done better at home like 3-0.
SD => 4 against SF & 3 against Lousy ARI
LA => 4 against weak Colarado and 3 against SF.
Cubs => 4 againts Cincinati and 3 against Atlanta Braves.
SF => 4 against SD & 3 againt LA ..
HOU => 4 against St.Luis and 3 against COL
Looks like Dodger will take the NL West. And wild card might go to Cubs.. But then you never know..Tough task for SF.
Oakland has much better chance of clincing AL West since they are playing Seatle next before facing Anahiem.. All home games.
I am hoping Braves will give a tough time to Cubs. I think Western Division will go to Dodgers. Had we won 2-1, it would be a different story. Now, its very tough. Padres gave Giants a pretty tough time when they were in SF. Its definitely going to be harder when Giants are on the road. I doubt Rockies can challange Dodgers all that much. Wild card is the only way to post-season, IMO.

I am not aware of throwing? What is that? Have you looked at the standings lately? Giants are only a half a game ahead. Astros had more injuries than you can count on your hands and they are still in the race. What is Giants excuse? In addition they have the most roid fed outfielder in the history of the baseball and still only 1/2 a game better than a team that cannot "throw".
First of all, its not 0.5 games ahead of Great Astros. Its 1 game ahead of them. Astros are 1.5 games behind Cubs. So, are you defending Astros or attacking Giants? :D
Anyway, "throwing" is when you pick up the ball and pass it to a guy so he can get the other person out, you know. Its usually helpful when you actually want the other team not to score a lot of runs or to steal bases.
ps. aida vi kjoi fancy ja na'a haiga tay dass diyu :p
Pardon me, one whole game...Wow how will the astros make that up? Remember Astros were decalred dead around august 15th, they have gone 29-10 since than. I will say its remarkable given that two of their starting pitchres have been sidleined (Andy Pettite practically for the whole season and Wade Miller has missed chunk of the season and is not scheduled to be back...not to mention, regular starting SS Adam Everett), so now tell me what excuse does Giants have? other than the fact that its one man team who has used more roids than his total homers.
Correction to the Astros games remaining 3 with Cards and 3 with Rockies ...both series at home. I am not saying that Astros will get the wild card, but they sure have made things interesting. Its either Cubs or Astros. Your Giants are not going to make it. :D
Cubs lost to Mets was the beginning of my worst weekend.
how can you lose to Mets? how? how? Sosa didn’t have ****ing hit game in the series - he shouldn’t be on the playoff roster once Cubs reached there. ![]()
Not ‘once’ but ‘if’. And yes. ![]()

Lets wait for a week.
Barry is clean - and that will be proven.
Talha bhaijaan, how guilable are you? Every one knows Barry has used roids and so have half of the MLB players. I guess that is why MLB does publicity stunts like they did with Barry. He is a snob, roid using, HR hitting machine. He can have the records, but he will never top Babe in my eyes...ever.
Thats fine. You can keep your Babe in your eyes  however, the more frustrating thing for any spectator is to see so many intentional walks. Ofcourse, the opposing teams want to win and IW is a strategy they can adopt, but its such a cowardly strategy. I was reading this article on MVP debate going on, and it compared Beltre with Bonds. Here you go:
Beltre is leading Bonds in almost every offensive category – doubles (32 to 27), homers (47 to 44), RBIs (115 to 100) and hits (195 to 132).
Yet the walks are so lopsided. Bonds has strolled 221 times, 116 of them intentionally, both by far single-season records. Beltre has walked 49 times, eight of them intentionally. The Dodgers alone have walked Bonds a league-high tying 30 times this season, 17 intentionally.
Bonds’ 44 homers has come in only 356 official at-bats, while Beltre’s 47 has come in 570.
So, if we, for a change, stick with players who actually played in 2004 (
), Bonds is a class of his own. And despite, so many Managers raising the four fingers, Giants are still only 0.5 games behind in the WC. Thats not bad, at all.

All you non Giants fan are jealous of Barry's achievement. He is simply great !!! Have some balls and pitch to him !!!!
But I must say I love it when people show chicken everytime Barry is walked in SBC Park.
True. It is pretty much obvious that everyone (almost) in the majors use performance enhancing drugs on regular basis. He may acheive more HRs than babe or hank but i agree with kaleem, they still will be the best.
So anyways, the weekend performance by boston over new york was amazing. We saw great pitching by Curt schilling and its good to see that he still has his game, now that the playoffs are about to start. and for the first time in five years, boston has won their season series against the yanks 11-8.

hmmm Barry has already gotten slugging pct. of Babe - matter of fact his OBP tells how much pitchers fear him - i don't care what other people think - Barry came forward to be tested - now tell me how many other players in the league would do it - publicity stunt? you kidding me? ESPN and FOX hasn't mention a word on this story.
I will deal with the rest of your rant, but here is a proof that it was a publicity stunt. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1889466
In addition I saw the story on Sports Center my self, so please, before you go gooo gooo gaaa gaaa over roid fed Bonds, at least check the sources. Other thing, yes he came forward to be tested, and this recent test is done by a lab/company hired by MLB…WOW that is proof enough. Maybe they should get an independent third part involved to prove that Bonds is not roid fed beast.
P.S. Compare the ERA of the pitchers in Babe’s era to what Bonds is facing today. You will be surprised. ![]()
I love cincinati Reds. ![]()
Inflict one more wound on Cubs.
NL wild card is now tied. Great Job by Giants.
:bhangra:
But they do have major problem with Closure.
Guy almost blew it today.
This is intresting.
Chicago 88 69 .561 - -
San Francisco 88 69 .561 - -
Houston 88 70 .557 0.5 5
San Diego 85 72 .541 3.0 3
Kaleem bhai - the story is same - ESPN ditto copy word of MLB website - come on you know how it goes arond.
- as for SportsCenter - i don’t watch every night. ![]()
i like the independent theory as you said - as for ERA - man it was back in the 20s and 30s - that era is gone - the slugging pct. speaks for itself - Babe never got IBB as much as Barry did and will have more in his career.
it was a bad outing by Maddux - i don’t remember him giving up 3 2-Run HR in a game - clearly he didn’t have his best stuff - plus last night Dodgers win kept Giants outta NL West dream. ![]()
