^Haha. Nice one. As long as you don't get home with a broken nose, you'd be ok. Don't mess with Texans :)
With the 8-1 drubbing of Mil Brewers, Giants retained their slim lead in the Wild card race. After tomorrow game with Brewers, all the remaining Giant's games are either with LEague leaders or the contenders... Padres, Astros and Dodgers. Its gonna be challenging and exciting end to the season.
With Tomko performing brilliantly with Schmidt, I am getting more hopeful. Although, even if they make it to the Play-Offs, Giants record in post-Season is pretty unencourging.

Well I was more worried about A's fan. Didnt wana mess with them. This was my first visit to Network Associates . It is pretty decent. It was half empty. I was told It only fills in playoffs. I must say though it is really big stadium. But experience at SBC park is always awsome. left the game on Bottom of 8th when Rangers were leading 8-2. It was over of A's and didnt want to get stuck in traffic.
Talking about Giant.I am pretty hopeful they will make it to Playoffs. It will be sweet if they take all matches of Dodgers and Padres Series. No phudda of Wildcards. :D
Yankees and Redsox 3-game series at the Yankee Stadium begins tomorrow - 2 games on ESPN(Friday, Sunday), one game on Fox(Saturday)
Redsox are four games back - if they able to pick 2 games from the Yanks - they have a pretty good chance of winning the AL East division - but they better not lose games to Mariners, D-Rays and other minnows alike!!!!!
I'm going for bosox to win the world series. This year they have a very legit. chance. There defence is still a bit on the weak side but i think their extraordinary pitching rotation and equally impressive offence will be more than enough to make up for it. and bring back nomar garciapara. I personally dont care about cabrera and menkawich. Both are average players.
I'm Kool - Nomar is No More for Boston - he ain't coming back - no matter how injured he will(hopefully he will recover) Jim Hendry won't give him up! i know he will be a free agent at the end of season - hopefully he will sign a contract with Cubs.
one note: Boston doesn't have an extra-ordinary pitching staff - they are two men rotation - Pedro and Curt - after the trade they have made - their defence has improved.
my fav. Yankee Giambi is back from DL - hopefully he will hit balls outta park.
Let’s go Yankees!!! SHowdown in the Bronx. I just don;t see the BoSux doing anything again this year. They will find a way to lose, watch. Until Fenway is burned down, there will be chants of 1918.

I dont think theres a better 1 2 punch in the whole league than martinez and schilling. Tim wakefield and derek lowe are really good for a supporting cast aswell. If any one of them was in the yankees roster he would be the ace of thier starting rotation without doubt.
Nomar might never come back to boston but i think to trade such a franchise player was a pretty big mistake. Eventhough they did get better defence in return , it still isn't up there.
Aho many good things happened in Baseball tonight!
-Barry Bonds went 700, bravo.
-Boston Red Sox over Yankee-doodles scoring 2 late runs in the 9th
-My favourite teams…Cubbies and Orioles both with high scoring wins. yipee
What the hell. I'm so mad.
Friggin no good defense. Made so many errors and misjudgments that they didn't even look like a team contending for the the championship. Boston's overall lackluster performance and lieber's exceptional pitching could not have come at a worse time.
ok - i will try to conclude all the games this weekend but firstly a tribute to game's biggest name - BARRY BONDS

Barry Bonds is entirely in a class by himself - ge gets all this crap from the media about being juiced which honestly, is total garbage - if a guy is roided up at age 40, he's going to have some injury issues come up. Barry has played left-field at a high level and has stayed injury free for years - To me that says something. Also, look at his performance this year, and look at the consistency over the past three years - a mammoth difference OBP - do you really think he's going to be juiced up this year after all the stuff he went through with BALCO during the offseason? it's a shame that people constantly disrespect the guy and attempt to undermine the significance of his accomplishments - MLB players and real baseball fans understand what he's doing (just go to MLB.com to read player opinions on Bonds), and it is absolutely incredible - There is no denying that Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron were unbelievable players - when all is said and done, however, Barry Bonds will be considered (at least by those who truly understand the game) to be the greatest player in the history of baseball.
well - there you go - when its time to pull the trigger - Boston never does - Yankees murdered them in game 2 and 3 - i mean what the hell happened to Pedro? he talks so much trash about this and that - well what happened on sunday? jeez - Redsox will have to now hang on the wild card.
damn Giambi - i don't think Joe will let him start in the postseason - what's he like? 0 for 33 at-bats - .187 BA - it just doesn't sound like him.
National League Wild Card
i think it's fair to say that Giants, Cubs and Astros are the contenders - Astros and Giants series begin tomorrow - both will try to kill each other meaning Cubbies will try to gain the ground on them :D by pounding Pirates and Mets. :D

looks to be a good race down the stretch between the Astros and whoever gets the better of the Marlins/Cubs series - the Giants and Padres may just have it too tough.

I am not impressed by Astros. Their defence is pretty weak. Looking at how Giants dominated them last two days, there is a good chance of a sweep (with Schmidt pitching today).
It will be interesting to see how Giants play the Dodgers. Padres have wiped out Dodgers, and in the process have allowed Giants to get within breathing distance of Division Championship. If Giants can dominate Dodgers now, they will be through.
With the way Tomko and Lowry are pitching right now, with Schmidt strong as ever (except when he plays Padres :-D ) this is going to be an exciting race to the finish.
At the same time, let me add that it is very disappointing to see so many intentional walks. Astros walked Bonds four times last night. People watch the game to see the match up between pitchers and hitters. Not to see the pitcher giving IW to a good hitter. Its beyond chicken.
Faisal - you shoulda waited a night before saying "a good chance of a sweep". :D

firstly - Astros' power relies on Killer Bees - ever since they got this fire - they were outscoring their opponents - scoring in the first 3 innings -Giants did a great job in the series shutting them down early - Dustin Hermanson lately has been good as a reliever except last night when he gave up 3-R homer - before that he has 1 win and 3 saves with 0.00 ERA

Division "Title" would be a appropriate word here. :p i do see Giants taking 2 games from Dodgers - L.A.'s lead of 1.5 could be evaporated this week - this will be a make or break for any team IMO.

lately Tomko and Lowry both have been great - they need to lower down ERA - with 3.50 or above you ain't gonna win games in playoffs unless if you have faced this sorta situation before in the postseason.

yeah - i hate that too but you have to understand opponent is trying to win games - this year Bonds has gotten more walks than he did in 2001 or 2002 - plus no pitcher is the calibre of Big Unit and Rocket.
Ok, so the only piece of good news is that Mets won against the Cubs. Otherwise its all disappointing. Dodgers took the series 2-1 and their Division lead is 2.5 (damn!). Giants are 0.5 behind Cubs and we now play Padres and Dodgers - both away series (double damn!).
A's fell to Anaheim again. Their lead is cut down some more (triple damn!). I have more hopes of A's making it to the play-offs than Giants. I dunno why. Maybe because I don't follow A's games as closely. :-D
Together with Warriors and 49ers, this year is shaping up to be pretty rough for the Bay Area. Only Raiders are performing nicely.
