Australia I has a new song?
I’m refering to the TVS Final with India today. After Harvey took the last wicket, the whole team went into a group hug in the middle of the pitch, where Adam Gilchrist then called down the whole team. Everyone from Buchanan, non participating players, training staff, bag boys, whatever was Australian came down to the middle of the pitch.
Then after each member of the ACB had arrived upon the pitch, everyone went into a big circle, arms around each others shoulders, with Adam Gilchrist in the middle of this big circle.
In the middle Gilchrist starting shouting a chant (first I thought he was holding a team meeting), waving his fist in the air over and over again, shouting “Australia, Australia”. He would move left and right, back and forth, pointing at a few players, maybe getting them to participate in a solo chant? I wonder what they were really singing, besides saying Australia Australia as the chorus.
Anyways, it showed team unity with the “whole” team actually participating in the chant for 1 minute.
Other than that, Gilchrist looked like he was having a orgasm jumping around like a ape, waving his arms in the air and singing his heart out.
