The Ashes 2013

Re: The Ashes 2013

Interestingly enough both captains (Clarke and Cook) are playing their 98th test, both have 25 test hundreds. Clarke’s average is better. Cook made his debut (2006) two years later than Clarke

Re: The Ashes 2013

England lost the test by a massive 381 runs, Johnson 9/103 in the match was the destroyer-in-chief & MoM. He also made 64 & 39*

Eng dismissed for just 179 in the second innings, i.e. twin failure with the bat

Clarke was fined for sledging against James Anderson: Australia v England, 1st Test, Brisbane : Clarke fined by ICC over Anderson sledge | Cricket News | England in Australia - The Ashes | ESPN Cricinfo

What? :konfused: Were umpires sleeping during Pak vs SA games?

Re: The Ashes 2013

Steyn was als fined for the 2nd T20 I guess

Re: The Ashes 2013

Eng in shambles again... 117/7

M Johnson strikes 3 wickets... a tripple wicket maiden over!

Re: The Ashes 2013

It seems downfall of England has started! Or they are also "Ghar key shair" :D

Re: The Ashes 2013

Re: The Ashes 2013

Australia should win the second test tomorrow. The next test is in Perth (13 Dec), one of the quickest tracks in world cricket. Australia generally don't lose here. Chances are England would have lost The Ashes before Christmas!

Re: The Ashes 2013

This is true for every country. India winning at home, lousy abroad. England just whooped Aussies at home, now returning the favor.

Re: The Ashes 2013

There is no single great test team right now but RSA and England are the better teams imo. Pakistan if they improve their batting can challenge them in tests

England lost 3-0 against Pak in UAE in 2012 but beat India 2-1 in India in 2013 and also won the Ashes 3-1 in Australia in 2010/11
RSA also won 3-1 in Australia in 2012/13

If anything a public apology from Pakistani army and government to the people of Bangladesh is long overdue

Re: The Ashes 2013

Australia's real test will be when they play Pakistan next in UAE or India in India

Re: The Ashes 2013

England are on the verge of losing the Perth test as well as the Ashes tomorrow

To rub salt into their wounds, George Bailey smashed 28 off an Anderson over equalling Lara’s world record

Re: The Ashes 2013

Can England avoid another Ashes Whitewash? They last suffered this ignominy down under, under Flintoff in 2006/07 (McGrath and Warne’s farewell series)
The next two tests are in Melbourne and Sydney

Re: The Ashes 2013

Why is Ben Stokes being thought of as next Gary Sobers, what is special about Stokes?

Re: The Ashes 2013

Too early to compare him to anyone.

Re: The Ashes 2013

There is no single great test team right now. Most teams are winning at home

A few recent exceptions:

South Africa beat Australia 3-1 in Australia in 2012/13
England won Ashes 3-1 in Australia in 2010/11
England beat India 2-1 in India in 2013
