The Art of Games

Dead End Thrills | Pretty. Epic.

I’m one of the few people I know who will still quite happily go back or try out an old game now matter how dated it now looks. If the gameplay is good, I tend to quite easily overlook low quality graphics and immerse myself into the experience. Having said that, I was big on game art during my teens and my bedroom walls didn’t have posters but my own drawings and paintings of characters.

Dead End Thrills is about making games look as good as possible. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe you’re seeing the same game you might be running on your own PC. The author lists all the mods, tweeks, patches etc he uses to produce the images so if you are so inclined, you can make the game your running look as good. There is no photoshop… just good use of free cameras usually.

The index tab lists all the games.

Skyrim has some of my favs… but there are 239 images.

Those images look awesome. Very realistic and detailed.

Re: The Art of Games

They are amazing!

It takes really long time to create a good background. For our game it took around 20 hours for level 1 only.

Re: The Art of Games

Oh wow. Those are some awesome images. I am impressed.

The camera work is flawless. Some of them look like paintings. and some of them so real.

Re: The Art of Games
