I enjoy this site but I don’t know when and where I will step on such offensive material. And I come across such content on regular basis.

Of course we can all discuss this topic without giggling like a teenager, but rape is a real crime and any and every device, method or technique that can help against this horrific act is worth discussing. We all need to mature up about that.

Rape is a serious topic. As TLK said sometimes humor is useful to convey a message. From a Science POV this is a contraption that several were not aware of. Spreading this info can end up saving some woman. No harm in that.
As far as who judges whom, we all judge each other. And it is OK to do so. It is a forum. Every post gets judged. Then some are liked. Some ignored. Some responded to.

you're right....and I've said this over and over again....we all judge, that's how the human mind works....that's how we make decisions in our lives.

what is not okay is when you form a judgement and then decide to ridicule, condemn or attack a member of the forum based on your conclusion. that's when you have crossed a line and violated the rules by which we all agreed to abide.
Coming back to the topic, it may be a practical device but I am not sure of the psychological effect of this device on the user. I mean it's not a pepper spray that you carry with you to protect yourself when you anticipate danger. This is the device that is only going to work after the start of the act of the rape, hence humiliation.
Also I suspect, as someone jokingly mentioned in this thread, that the device will be used as a revenge device against cheating and disloyal male partner than a device to defend yourself against rape.
I was being flippant … I meant that this device has as much chance of being a rape prevention as that would have. So many problems are inherent in such a device such as:
Being able to preempt the rape to wear such a device in time, I thought rape is usually a surprise attack. Unless of course it is habitual rape … So it is less of a preventive, but more of a trap to catch them in the act.
It might be seen and removed by the rapist.
It does not prevent rape … If the person gets caught the rape has already happened
For that reason it is not a brilliant invention. But it may give the woman the chance satisfaction of getting one back on the rapist.
Re: women who may use this against their lyin, cheatin, two-timin lovers, that should not be the reason to prevent others from having access to this gripping technology.
As for this not bring able to prevent rape. Rape is violent. Involves an act that can go on for a while. Here, upon ins!#$n, the perpetrator is instantaneously neutralized. And humiliated. Confused as to how this is humiliating for woman. Moreover this forms a lining inside. So no direct contact made.
