What’s up with this tweenie adolescent making it so big on the music scene. You have Annie’s Mahiya gettin 1000+ downloads on Coolgoose [or cooltoad whatever], which is kinda a benchmark for any “HIT” track. Then you have Annie videos doing an overkill on the local airwaves, you have Annie ineterviews on the headlines of the local showbiz glossies. And now you have an Annie album too, titled “Princess”. What’s next? Syed Noor makin an Annie movie?
I’m just awed. More so because the song that won her fame is so mediocre. She sounds like she just got out of bed. But apparently, there’s more to this than meets [my] eye. Any ideas?

Do you watch Ulta Seedha the comedy/parody show by Faisal Qurehi, Amna Khan and Ahsan Raheem feat Mani on GeoTV? They've been bashing her, her song and the hype big time constantly for the past few weeks :D
Haris, its cool to ridicule her on all these tellie shows but I do admire the girl's guts. She's made herself a celebrity and she's not even an adult yet ?]. Everyone's probably a tad bit envious. You know if she works on her vocals like A LOT she may just be the next Hadiqa. But all the while I'm wondering what actually made her song such a hit. My sis loves it, every radio station's playing it, heck even the rickshaws are going Annie!
Maybe she'll sound better when she grows up. Whatever happens one thing is for sure that she's not a natural like Nazia Hassan was.
Maybe it’s just the visuals ppl get from her that have made her a somebody this quick. I dont know Rabi Pirzada for any of her songs (well except one good one which was shot at Evolution-no idea what it’s called, is a remake of some oldie i think…), I, like many others know her for how she looks ;). Plus becoming somebody in the pakistani pop scene isnt all that hard any more, spend some money (roughly around a PKR 100,000 for a medium budget effort) make a video and the channels will put it on air and ppl will know you…heck DJ Jashan and Younus Jani made it too! Annie isn’t bad to look at and yeah maybe some time she might make a very good song, but this ‘mahiya’ deal is strange, the video appears a bit perverted for some reason and is a visibly low budget one too. Remember the start when the guy is pulling his boat to the shore and she’s sitting with a book on her lap, she stares at him and when he looks at her she jolts and looks away, thats scary…!
