its really good so far

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO CHELHO

Wow so I have someone who can contribute here and share the extracts :k:

I shall start with the first extract that clicked me in the book. Its when Saintiago has a recurring dream, and he goes to a Gypsy dream interpereter:

This is Gypsy’s reply:

" I told you that your dream was a difficult one. It’s the simple things in life that are the most extra ordinary; only wise men are able to understand them. And since I am not wise, I have had to learn other arts, such as the reading of palms."

And when Saintiago asks her if he can make it to Egypt, she says:

“I only interpret dreams. I don’t know how to turn them into reality. That’s why I have ot live off what my daughters provide me with.”

So many things can be discussed about above few lines. Dont they sound so pregnant and meaningful? Well this is why I love the book :k:

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO CHELHO

i think the whole book is pretty meaningful cuz of wat i have read so far

i find these lines so true

And, if u want sumthing, all the universe conspires in helping u to achieve it

*treasure is uncovered by the force of flowing water, and it is burried by the same currents *

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

When Siantiago has a meeting and a convo with Melchizedek; there have been some really wonderful phrases that occur. I loved that story Melchizedek narrated to him, where a shopkeeper sends his son to the wisest man to learn about the secret of happiness. To wisest man, "The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon". This is something that makes Saintiago think A shepherd may like ot travel, but he should never forget about his sheep.
And i feel it certainly rings a bell....

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

quite some time ago, paulo coelho sold the rights of ‘the alchemist’ for a movie production…but then he bought them back so no movie could be made of it.

i was actually happy that they werent gonna make a movie of it. his novel has so much more in it than just a plot line. any one who is reading/has read it will agree with me. his intended audience is the person who will pick up that book and read it. it isn’t meant for an $8 movie ticket..:snooty: i’d like it never to become a movie!

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

I’m going to start The Alchemist now. Let’s find out why everyone is in love with this ‘magical fable’. :)

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

Well i read somewhere that real worth is always hidden in the simplicity and quietness. ALCHEMIST is such a book! :)

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

deewani teri: its better if they r not going to make amovie out of this book

cuz u have seen the hashar of the story they do in movie making

its so disappointing to see amazing books turned into 3 hours of crap

Re: THE ALCHEMIST: BY PAULO COELHO

A fantastic tale which can inspire the readers to follow their dreams. I was able to read all the way through the end without losing interest at any stage. :k:
