The aesthetics of shaving one's pubes!

As Muslims we are supposed to shave our pubic hair but how many of us here actually do and also how short does count as being ‘shaved’. I mean do we have to have it always completely smooth or is there a length which is recommended. Also does this include the balls as well?
(I cut myself once trying to shave them and it was painful!! )

how about for ladies?

aesthetically speaking I personally find that a shaved (female) pubic area looks far more attractive than a hairy one. What do the girls think and other guys? Girls what about you? Do you prefer shaved guys or hairy guys?

Also girls use dilipidatory (?) cream right to remove hairs down there or do u shave too? I currently shave but have thought about using the cream after being cut..the problem is i am too embarassed to go to the chemist to buy some! any solutions?!?!

They must be no longer than a grain of rice.

OR the max u can go with not shaving is 40 days

Grain of rice? well if so then i am feeling better now I thought it was grain of wheat.
Thanks guys.

You must have been shaving every other day! :D

the idea is to be hygenic.. and the pits and pubes can smell if they are not trimmed.

shaving isnot for everyone.. trimming would do.. a nice beard trimmer should do the trick.

We shouldn't get bogged down in the symantics of the orders.. but the idea behind them.

and if you have shaving or trimming.. you can try elecrtolysis.. (though i would not advise it.. quite painful from what i hear)

right guys..thanks for the feedback...

how about the second part of my original q to the ladies: what do you prefer--guys who are clean shaven or a bit of hair?

Also would it be possible--and safe--to get the hair removed by laser surgery once and for all?

I think its more hygenic to be trimmed or shaved, for men and women.

For hygene I tend to agree, but please don't drag islam into it. Please show any Quranic references regarding this nonsense, I bet you can't provide a single one.

Please do not say things and attribute them to god.

assalamoalikum :jhanda:

aahmed watch it matey! don’t u dare spell a bad word aginst islam it ain’t bull**** at all, its part of islam is cleanliness… or don’t u know that???

Idea of being hygenic explains the best.

not shaving, & not cutting ur nails for more than 40 days makes it “makrooh”. in some of the sects.

:bravo:

Insolent Mods, why don't you watch it? If you read my post, I asked for some Quranic sources to your so called Islamic teachings.

If all you can do is yell like an angry monkey without any sources validating your argument, how do you expect people to believe you?

Hadith

I am sorry I may have spelled it worng but, in reply to your post my friend aahmed it is not in Quran but sure enough it is in a book called Hadees-e-Nabawi. if you read it you will find your answers. and everything that is in that book and also in Quran it is for our benefits and remember Reading and understanding is two different things. you can read and memorize a whole book but if you don't understand it you will always have Questions.

The first Hadees was recorded more than 200 years after the death of Prophet (SAW). Is there any refernce to hair in Quran that can be linked to this Hadees?.

Just having long hair alone does not mean it is not clean or hygenic. Having long head hair is not prohibited in Islam.

I am not sure and that is why I am asking this. To me, as long as the hair (all over your body) is kept clean, the length and width should not be an issue.

Allah Knows Best.

Exactly Funguy, these guys can NEVER provide any QURANIC references to their nonsense, even though I specifically asked for QURANIC references.

Bhai if you want to live your life based on something that someone said that someone said that someone said that the prophet may have said, so be it, but when god says that the Quran is a complete book, then I believe God. And if God's complete book doesn't have anything about the length of ones pubic hair, only stating that one has to be clean, than that's what I'm gonna do. To each his own.
