دوپہر ہوچکی تھی مگر الطاف عباسی ایڈووکیٹ نے ابھی تک گھر ٹیلیفون نہیں کیا تھا، سورج ڈھلنے کے ساتھ ساتھ نگینہ عباسی کی پریشانی میں اضافہ ہوتا گیا یہ الطاف کے معمولات میں شامل تھا کہ وہ عدالت سے دفتر پہنچتے اور گھر ٹیلیفون کرکے خیریت دریافت کرتے اور شام کو ضرورت کی چیزیں ساتھ لیکر گھر پہنچتے۔ مگر اس روز ان کا ٹیلیفون نہیں آیا یہ خبر پہنچی کے ان کے دفتر کو آگ لگا دی گئی ہے ۔
گزشتہ سال آج کی تاریخ یعنی نو اپریل کو کراچی سٹی کورٹ کے بار روم میں وکلا کے دو گروہوں میں تصادم کے بعد وسطی شہر میں ہنگامہ آرائی شروع ہوگئی تھی، اس دوران نامعلوم افرادنے طاہر پلازہ میں واقع ایڈووکیٹ الطاف عباسی کے دفتر کو باہر سے بند کرکے نذر آتش کردیا تھا، جس میں وہ اپنے موکلوں باسط محمود، سعد اختر، داور حسین، مسمات رضیہ اور مسمات صوبیہ سمیت زندہ جل کر ہلاک ہوگئے ۔
الطاف عباسی کے سالے ناصر خان کا کہنا ہے کہ الطاف کو پہلے سر میں گولی ماری گئی جس سے اس کا چھرا خراب ہوگیا بعد میں کسی کیمیکل سے آگ لگادی گئی ’دو دن تک ہم لاش کی شناخت نہیں کرسکے تھے، جب چھ سوختہ لاشوں میں سے پانچ کی شناخت ہوگئی اور الطاف کا کوئی پتہ نہیں چلا تو ہم آخری لاش لیکر آگئے جس کے بعد الطاف کی شناخت ہوئی۔‘
نگینہ عباسی کے مطابق میت ایسی حالت میں آئی کہ نہ تو وہ اور نہ ہی بچے ان کا آخری دیدار کرسکے ، شادی کو سات سال کا عرصہ بیت جانے کے بعد بھی انہیں الطاف سے کوئی شکایت نہیں تھی ’چھیننے والوں نے چھین لیا بچوں کا آسرا تھا اسے ہٹا دیا، اب یہ بچے کیسے بڑے ہوں گے۔‘
نگینہ عباسی لیاری کے علاقے چاکیواڑہ چوک میں دو کمروں کے ایک فلیٹ میں اپنے چار بچوں کے ساتھ رہتی ہیں جہاں ایک پرانے صوفے کے علاوہ کوئی فرنیچر موجود نہیں ہے۔
سرکاری اعداد و شمار کے مطابق نو اپریل کی ہنگامہ آرائی میں گیارہ افراد ہلاک اور ساٹھ کے قریب گاڑیاں نذر آتش کی گئی تھیں، جن کی کوئی چونتیس ایف آئی آر درج کی گئیں جو تمام ہی نامعلوم افراد کے خلاف تھیں۔
الطاف عباسی کے سالے ناصر خان کے مطابق انہوں نے اس لیئے ایف آئی درج نہیں کرائی تھی کہ یہ ریاست کا کام ہے فرد واحد کا نہیں ، لوگوں کو سب نے دیکھا اس کے باوجود نامعلوم افراد خلاف ایف آئی آر درج کرائی گئی۔
لیاقت علی خان سے لیکر بینظیر بھٹو تک کے مقدمے نامعلوم افراد کے خلاف ہیں کسی ایک کی شناخت یا سزا نہیں ہوئی ہے۔
اس واقعے میں ہلاک ہونے والی دونوں عورتوں کو لسانی تنظیم نے اپنا کارکن بنادیا وہ اردو بولنے والی ضرور تھیں مگر ان کا کسی سیاسی جماعت سے تعلق نہیں تھا وہ الطاف عباسی کے موکل تھے۔
کراچی بار کے صدر محمد علی عباسی کا کہنا ہے کہ اس روز جو کچھ ہوا اس کا نشانہ وکلا ہی تھے اور وکلا تحریک کو سبوتاژ کرنے کے لیئے یہ حملہ کیا گیا اور جو دیگر لوگ اس واقعے میں جل کر ہلاک ہوئے وہ ایک وکیل کے دفتر میں موجود تھے۔
حکومت کی جانب سے نو اپریل کے واقعات کے تحقیقات کے لیئے ہائی کورٹ کے جج کی سربراہی میں ٹربیونل بنایا گیا تھا جس نے اس میں ملوث افراد اور گروہوں کی نشاندہی کرنا تھا مگر متاثرین نے اپنی مالی نقصان کے بارے میں تو بتایا مگر کسی بھی گواہ نے ہلاکتوں کی شہادت نہیں دی اور اس ٹربیونل نے اپنی رپورٹ محکمہ داخلہ کے حوالے کردی۔
وکلا تنظیموں کی جانب سے بھی اس ٹربیونل کا بائیکاٹ کیا گیا تھا اور کہا گیا تھا کہ آزاد عدلیہ کی بحالی کے بعد وہ نو اپریل اور بارہ مئی واقعات کی تحقیقات کا مطالبہ کریں گے مگر افتخار محمد چودھری کی بحالی سے لیکر اب تک ایسی کوئی عملی کوشش نظر نہیں آئی۔
کراچی بار کے صدر محمد علی عباسی کا کہنا ہے کہ اگر حکومت سنجیدہ ہے تو ایسا جج مقرر کیا جائے جس نے عبوری آئینی حکم کے تحت حلف نہ اٹھایا ہو اور وہ غیر جانبدار ہو تاکہ اس میں ملوث ملزمان کی نشاندہی ہوسکے ۔
الطاف عباسی ایڈووکیٹ کی بیوہ نگینہ عباسی کا کہنا ہے کہ ان کے شوہر کے ساتھی وکلا بھی رابطے میں نہیں ہیں الطاف نے اسی آزاد عدلیہ کے لیئے قربانی دی مگر وہ انصاف سے محروم ہیں۔
الطاف کے چار بچوں میں سے تین کا جنم ساتھ ہوا ہے جو اسکول جارہے ہیں نگینہ ان کے بستوں کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہوئے کہتی ہیں کہ ابھی کتابیں لینی ہیں اور اس کے ساتھ ان کی آنکھیں نم ہوجاتی ہیں۔

A sixth body was found late Wednesday night and rescue workers told Dawn that it had apparently been wearing bangles, suggesting that at least one woman died in the blaze.
Charred beyond recognition, the bodies were taken to the Sohrab Goth Edhi morgue. While two were taken away by their heirs for burial, Dawn witnessed a number of people at the morgue on Thursday, endeavouring to find in the blackened corpses some evidence identifying them as their missing loved ones.
Amongst these grieving people was Rasheeda Begum, who feared that her relatives Razia Batool (wife of Nadeem) and Sobia (wife of Shoaib Raza) died in the Tahir Plaza arson attack. The sisters-in-law left their Gulistan-i-Jauhar block 9 home on Wednesday afternoon to visit Mr Abbasi in connection with a bail application for a relative. “Razia left her three-year-old child at home,” said Rasheeda Begum in a trembling voice. “It is not possible to identify the bodies by simply looking at them. The investigation officer said that he is in possession of some rings and bangles recovered from these remains – perhaps they will help us in the identification process.”
Waiting outside the morgue on this sombre business, Rasheeda Begum nevertheless held on to a slim ray of hope – that the two women were rescued and taken to some hospital. “I keep praying that their cell phones start working again,” she told Dawn.

That's because you don't know the history of the ISI which has planted fake stories in prominent newspapers against the MQM. The whole made up stories of torture cells, jinnahpur are well known. Nothing of the sort existed.

You mean the May 12th rioting instigated mostly by the ANP? It was their armed supporters who attacked the MQM rally being held and obviously MQM responded in kind. Not saying that makes it right or a good thing, but it was not a one sided event.
And Musharraf did not control MQM or vice versa. Even he knows his limits.
