The Prophet Muhammad (Salallaho Alaihi Wassallam) foretold 72 signs that would appear near Doomsday:

  1. People will leave prayer
  2. People will usurp Ama’naat
  3. Lying will become an art
  4. There will be murders on the slightest of
    disagreements
  5. Interest will become common
  6. There will be very tall buildings
  7. People will sell Religion for the world
  8. People will treat relatives badly
  9. Justice will become a rarity
  10. Lies will be considered truth
  11. Clothes will be of silk
  12. Persecution will become common
  13. Divorces will become common
  14. Sudden deaths will increase
  15. The usurper of Ama’naat will be considered honest and honourable
  16. The keeper of Am’naat will be called an usurper of things given to him for safekeeping
  17. Liars will be thought of as honest
  18. Honest people will be thought of as liars
  19. False accusations will become the norm
  20. It will be hot in spite of rain
  21. Instead of wishing for children, people will pray that they not have children
  22. People from bad backgrounds and with bad
    upbringing will live a life of luxury (material, not peaceful)
  23. Good people, when they try to practice, will be cut off from the world
  24. Previously good people will also usurp Ama’naat
  25. Leaders will become persecutors
  26. Ulema and Qaris will commit adultery
  27. People will wear clothes of animal skin
  28. But their hearts will smell and will be dead
  29. And will be bitter
  30. Gold will become common
  31. Demand for Silver will increase
  32. Sin will increase
  33. Peace will become rare
  34. Ayaats from the Quran will be decorated and calligraphy will become common
  35. Mosques will be decorated
  36. And will have tall minars
  37. But hearts will be empty
  38. Alcoholic drinks will be consumed
  39. Punishments ordered by the Shariah will be revoked and will no longer be implemented
  40. Women will order their mothers around
  41. People who are with naked feet, naked bodies and against religion will becomekings
  42. Women will trade along with men
  43. Women will imitate men
  44. Men will imitate women
  45. People will swear by things other than Allah and the Quran
  46. Even Muslims will be prepared to give false testimony, without being incited to it
  47. Only people one knows will be greeted with the salaam
  48. The knowledge of the shariah will be used to earn worldly things
  49. Acts which earn the Akhirah, will be used to earn the world
  50. Assets belonging to the nation will be considered and treated as personal treasures by the rulers
  51. Ama’naat will be considered ones personal asset
  52. Zakaat will be considered a penalty
  53. The lowest and the worst man in the nation will become its leader
  54. People will not obey their fathers
  55. And will mistreat their mothers
  56. And will not hold back from harming their friends
  57. And will obey their wives
  58. And the voices of men who commit adultery will be raised in mosques
  59. Women who sing will be treated with great deference
  60. Instruments of music will be kept with great care
  61. Alcohol will be drunk on the highways
  62. People will be proud of their acts of persecution
  63. Justice will be sold in the courts
  64. The number of men in the police force will increase
  65. Instead of music, the Quran will be used to gain pleasure for its tune
    and style (qirat), not for what it preaches, its meaning or for rewards in the Akhirah
  66. Animal fur will be used
  67. The last of the Ummat will curse those before them. (clearly seen today in people who call the Prophet’s companion’s names)
  68. Either Allah will send a Red Storm upon you
  69. Or Earthquakes
  70. Or your faces will be changed
  71. Or a rain of rocks from the skies. Asteroids, Meteors
  72. Lies will become a habit of the rulers and the rich The Prophet Muhammad Sallahu alayhi wa sallam also
    said:
  73. Alcohol will be called Sherbat, and will be considered Halal
  74. Interest will be called Trade, and will be considered Halal
  75. Bribes will be called Gifts, and will be considered Halal
  76. Women will be naked in spite of wearing dresses. (This Hadith has baffled the Ulema for a very long time until now) The 3 kind
    of naked women
    are:
    (1) Those who wear see-through dresses
    (2) Those who wear tight dresses and
    (3) Those whose dresses are so short,that they expose the body
  77. Women will have hair, like the hump of a camel. (This hadith too, had baffled the Ulema for quite a long time till they saw
    current hairstyles. I believe it came into fashion about 5 years ago.)

Jihad is fast approaching every corner of the world. We have to reinforce our inner strength with the help of ALLAH s.w.t. by
dzikr in abundance to always remember ALLAH s.w.t to seek protection, sincere in our action, solat , read Al-Quran, tabligh and jihad. These are the guiding principle of tabligh as practiced by our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.

Some of these points are questionable

Is that so bad to obey your wife to what she says? So if it is a sign of Qiyamah, Why is it considered bad? Somebody care to explain this?

Thanx for sharing..I heard some of these @ a lecture i went to..it was called"when the sun rises from the west"
it was done by Abdul-Rahim Green from u.k. but he came all the way to Can. for some religious lecture for the youth

I think there r many more signs for yom-el-qiyyamat
these r some i can rmemeber..(not in order)
1) the sun rising from the west
2) The coming of Dajaal(this scares me)
3) the coming of Imam Mehdi
4) the coming of Hazrat Issa'(Jesus)

and for now that's it what i can remember..

creature the world has never seen… but can
you please inform me more of this creature…
like a site or something. BTW… None of these are reliable because what is true is that
whenever Allah (swt)desires… in a twinkle
of an eye… we may be in front of him answering

here is the list of the signs of the day of judgement which is directly derived from the Saheeh Hadeeths

The following information is a summary of a lecture given by a scholar of Riverside,
Gharm-Allah El-Ghamdy, around the fall of 1991. Editor’s notes are in brackets ]. It
is hard to tell whether certain of these events have already occurred, or when they will
precisely occur. Allah knows best.

Though Allah only knows when the Last Hour before the Day of Resurrection will come, He
has given us ‘clues’ about its approach through information in the Qur’an and the hadith of the
Prophet. The signs can be separated into two categories: minor and major. This article does
not cover all the signs, but most of the important ones are here. All these signs are, of course,
based on hadith and/or Qur’an, mainly the former.

Minor Signs (in no particular order)

1.“The coming of the Last Prophet, Muhammad ibn Abd-Allah (SAW).” [This has already
happened, of course.]
2.“The slave will become the master.”
3.“Shepherds will compete in the construction of tall buildings.” [The modern ex-nomads
of Saudi Arabia are an excellent example of this.]
4.“Knowledge of Islam will be taken away while ignorance will increase. This removal of
knowledge will be because old scholars will die and fewer and fewer new scholars will
replace them. The leaders of the Muslims will be chosen from ignorant people, and they
will rule according to their whims.” [Today, studying Islam formally is considered to be
an inferior career in most of the Muslim world. The leaders of the Muslim world are
more known for their political or military prowess (oppressive ability?) than Islamic
knowledge.]
5.“Drinking and fornication will increase heavily.”
6.“The population of men will decrease, and women increase till fifty women shall be for
every man.”
7.“Thirty people will claim to be prophets, followed by Al-Dajjal (the anti-Christ
roughly).”
8.“There will be such an abundance of wealth that people will not be able to find recipients
for zakat.”
9.“Killing will increase.”
10.“Time will be shortened so that a year will be like a month, a month like a day, a day like
an hour.” [This perception of the seemingly dwindling amount of time is very apparent,
especially in First World countries.]
11.“Two great countries will fight and kill each other, both claiming the same thing.”
12.“Earthquakes will increase in number.” [Welcome to California. :-]
13.“A person will pass by the grave, and wish to trade places out of despair.”

Major Signs (in rough chronological order)

1.“Al-Dajjal will come, claiming to be God holding Heaven and Hell. His purpose is to
deceive, and unbelievers will follow him. He is short, red-faced, blind in the right eye,
and has hair which sticks up. He will go around the world, but will be unable to enter
Madinah or Makkah.” [There are numerous detailed ahadith on this man.]
2.“Al-Mahdi will come at the time of Al-Dajjal. He will call to the true Islam, and will be
a military leader. His name will be exactly like that of the Prophet: Muhammad ibn
Abd-Allah, and his father’s name will match the Prophet’s father’s name also. He will be
descended from Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet.”
3.“Isa (Jesus) will come at the time of Al-Dajjal and al-Mahdi as well. He will descend at
the time of Fajr prayer on a masjid in Damascus, the capital of Syria. He is of medium
height, red-faced, and his hair is as if he just took a shower. He will call people back to
Islam, but he will also be a military leader. The People of the Book will revert to Islam,
and wealth will be super-abundant. Isa will break the cross, kill the swine, and
personally slay Al-Dajjal. He will stay on Earth for a long time thereafter, and then die.”
4.“An animal will come and call people back to Islam.” [A partial description of this
animal is that it is very hairy, so much so that one will not be able to tell its front from its
rear (Arabic: ‘Dab-ba’). Reference to this animal is mentioned in the Qur’an.]
5.“Gog and Magog (two hidden tribes of people) will break free of the dam that holds them
back, and ravage the earth. They will drink all the water, and kill people until Allah
sends against them a worm which will wipe them out.” [This is roughly before/during the
time of Isa, although it is not entirely clear.]
6.“Three places in the world will sink and be swallowed up by the earth. One in the west,
one in the east, and one in the Saudi Arabian peninsula.” [This may refer to a series of
giant, epic earthquakes.]
7.“Fire will come from the area of Aden in Yemen, and sweep northwards.” [There are
claims that this already happened in some medevial event.]
8.“The sun will rise from the west.” [This description is not meant to be a symbolic
one…but it is known that it is one of the last, if not the very last one before the following.]
9.“Smoke will appear all over the earth which will cause believers to catch something
similar to a slight cold, whereas the unbelievers will be hit harder by it. Finally, a cold
wind will come and kill all believers, leaving only unbelievers on the earth who will
then witness the LAST HOUR. The angel Israfil will blow a trumpet, and the
resurrection of all human beings will begin.” [At this point, the Day of Resurrection
commences in which the skies and earth are destroyed by Allah.]

This list is far from complete; there are many other signs. A couple more of interest are:
Constantinople (Istanbul) will fall before Rome to Islam (note that this means Rome will
indeed fall), and the Muslim political system will go from Prophetic leadership to a just
Khilafah to a ‘biting’ authority to an oppressive authority and finally back to a just Khilafah. It
seems that today we are in the next to last stage of this chain; now is a good time to actively
work for the reestablishment of the Muslim state and Khilafah.

Finally, the Prophet has said that when the Signs start to come, they will come FAST - like a
string of beads falling one after the other.

The only reason to fear the day of judgement is if you are not confident in your faith and resolve. At least this is my belief.

I strongly disagree with the approach that religion should be taught/encouraged through fear.

On the day of judgement, even the big good deeds doers will Fear their judgement. Hazrat Umer ( may Allah be pleased with him) the second Khalifa (whom Prophet pbuh gave the glad tidings of Paradise) said similar to this that he will not be sure that he will enter paradise if one of his leg is in paradise and one is not (until both of his legs are in there).

How about reading the translation of Quran ? where Allah says Fear the Hell Fire and many many times says to Fear Allah (himself) !

YUSUFALI: Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger, and took the aggressive by
being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay, it is Allah Whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe!

Same Surah
009.018
YUSUFALI: The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish
regular prayers, and practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true
guidance.

I believe its more than many hundred times Allah used the word fear in Quran.

We encourage other muslim brothers/sisters not to do sins by telling them to Fear Allah.

Saheeh Muslim Hadeeth #
Book 039, Number 6765: 

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Observe moderation in deeds (and if it is not possible, try to be near moderation) and understand that none amongst you can attain salvation because of his deeds alone. They said: Allah's Messenger, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah should wrap me in His Mercy and Grace.

Allah clearly said in the Quran so many times that His mercy and forgiveness is for the people who Fear Him.
