Thaveez Thaga

What are your views? How much do you believe in it? How can you tell if its happened to you?

yazoo :)

this is a FACT. Allah mentions it in the Holy Qur'an: in fact surat falak and surat al-naas were revealed because a yehudi lady put kaala jaadoo [taweez] on our Beloved Nabi sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam.

So as it is in the Qur'an we HAVE to believe in it.

..

Asif bahi oh bahiiiiiiii I had problem with you last time and here we go again. YOu couldnt not prove that shadow thing, you said mohammad did not had shadow and now this.

LIST THE SURAHS here where list them dont say this this that surah list the sura so we can read it here make things easier for us.
Allah has said manythings in quran which NOT to do, one of them isssss DONT CREAT things or dont make things right in islam when they are not!!!
As far as i know and as far as i studied islam there is no one hadith or surah that states that taveez things are right.

I agree with Asif on this one.
Maybe I would'nt have believed it if I hadnt seen it happening to some one real close.

It does not need a scholar to define for us the purpose of the revelation of the Qur'an. Anyone who knows anything about Islam will tell you that the Qur'an is a book which provides guidance for mankind so that
they may follow Allah's instructions and build a happy human life. It is implicit in this definition that the Qur'an is meant for implementation. Allah has not sent down the Archangel Gabriel with His message, the Qur'an, so that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), His last messenger, should convey it or recite it in melodious voice to enchant his audience, or to make of it a charm to wear in the hope of accomplishing a particular purpose. If we use Qur'anic verses in such a way, we are guilty of degrading Allah's words. The thought behind using
Qur'anic verses in charms for the purpose to which the question has referred to comes simply from the fact that people do believe that verses are Allah's words. Since Allah is able to accomplish any purpose He likes, then
His words, - as people mistakenly think - must have a secret power of their own. That is a twisted argument. It is not the word used in a verse, or the verse itself, which has a secret of its own. The Qur'an consists of words which we use everyday in our own language. The fact that these words occur in the Qur'an does not impart to them any special secret or power. The Qur'an brings out its power and its goodness when it is implemented in practical life. It is then and only then that people realize how much happier they become as a result of
implementation of Allah's law. The words themselves and the ink with which they are written are not different from any other words or ink. The Qur'an provides for us a code of practice. If we follow that code and implement it, we lead a happy life because that is the purpose of Allah's code. Moreover, we earn reward from Allah for
carrying out His orders. If we turn away from such an implementation, reducing the Qur'an to a mere book through which we seek to have some blessings or the accomplishment of particular purposes, then we displease Allah and achieve nothing. I can tell my readers in the clearest of ways that wearing a charm does not achieve the purpose for which it is worn. It does not matter what is written in it; wearing it is a sin for which the
wearer must repent and seek Allah's forgiveness. Moreover, it is sure that the purpose for which it is worn will not be achieved. That is due to the fact that the Prophet has made a supplication to that effect. He says: "May Allah not accomplish the purpose of a person who wears a charm." (Related by Ahmad). The Prophet is also
quoted as saying: "He who wears a charm is guilty of associating partners with Allah." We know for certain that Allah answers every prayer or supplication that the Prophet has made in the clearest and widest of fashion.
Hence, the surest way of not getting what one aims for is to wear a charm for its accomplishment. In some charms and amulets, Qur'anic verses are written. Some of those who write such amulets and charms ask the
people to whom they give one to soak it in water until the ink (or saffron) has dissolved and then to drink it. That
does not give him any blessing. It may give him a stomachache. The Qur'an may be used in order to bring about a good effect. Allah describes the Qur'an as "a cure for that which is in people's breasts." It is
permissible to read the Qur'an and then make a supplication to Allah for any good purpose, whether it relates to the hereafter or to this life. Allah answers prayers at all times, but a prayer said after an act of worship, such as the recitation of the Qur'an, is more likely to be answered. Why should one need to use a charm when he can
use Allah's power and the Qur'an, His words, in the manner approved by Him.

Jawaan....an informative post, but there are a few things that you have to consider before you give ur explanations. ie, facts. First of all, ur negation of the fact that Prophet SAW was indeed under a spell cast by a jew woman, as a result of which surah falaq and surah naas were revelated. Your points against using amulets to protect urself from evil or to get closer to Allah are absolutely correct. They dont have any value in Islam, and this incident preaches exactly that. It was a JEW woman who did that taweez ganda, not a MUSLIM. So in effect, whoever uses taweez or amulets would be emulating the jew woman, not prophet SAW or any of his teachings. All Allah SWT told Prophet SAW to do was read Surah Falaq and Surah Naas, the last 2 surahs in the Quran, in which Prophet SAW asks Allah SWT to shield him from the evil of those who are jealous of him, and those who wish to do harm to him. The prayer is being made to Allah SWT, directly.
As for people wearing these amulets or doing things similar to that, i believe we are not in a position to judge anyone. It all depends on the intention of the person involved. Some people keep a copy of the Holy Quran in their pockets all the time, others have surah Yaseen, others have small prayers hanging in their cars. While lots of people do have the mindset that the mere presence of a Holy Quran in their pocket will shield them from evil, there are people who do so in order to be able to read the Quran whenever they get a chance. In other words, not everyone has the wrong intentions. The bottom line is, we, as humans, can only judge ourselves, not anyone around us. Allah SWT even told the Prophet SAW that he doesnt have the ability to judge anyone, or give anyone hidayat. He can only pass it on. Allah is responsible for judging and giving hidayat. So dont judge.

I don't agree with them..saying allah's world in a dua yourself..is more protection then just wearing it around your neck as Jawan said...

BUt..i have had them..mostly to please my Aunts who worried because they say in Pakistan Nazir both hai...

now that i've said my bit..
Please respond in Religion forum...

ONly quran can be used against any kinds of evil NOT personal words...what ever is in quran is useable against evil...now to say to ...KASHMIRI GIRL what did i said...it is in hadith that " Omer wrote bismilla on his cap and when ever he use to take it off the headache would start and when ever he use to put in on it would stop...but it is NOT in hadith to wear a speacial kind of things in the neck.

Akif bahi i was not judging no one maybe you judged me the wrong way...as you said we have surahs in cars and stuff well if you apply same thing to house dont we have qurans in our houses...isnt that as if we have a sura or 2 in car or in the wallet or someother place???????? isnt that same as placing a quran in car (a little quran) or big quran in house for protection.
Islam is already complete we dont need a person's view on it or person CANT have his or her view on it, a person CANNON change it the way it is right for him or her....NO NO NO thats not good...islam is complete and it does not need editing or any sort of personal change. IT IS THE WAY IT IS>>YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR SELF WITH IT or TO IT.

If some old Baba jee from 600 or 1200 years after mohammad told you to do something which is not in islam it does not mean its right...you must have prof that he said and and he said it cuz mohammad him self did it or orderd it...you cant creat things in islam as u wish NO its a FULL glass if you put any more water in it, it will spill and what happens when full glass of water spills????? Im sure you know, or I HOPE u know...things can go on and on and but jisey allah hidayat dey...

What i said was that keeping a copy of the Quran with u thinking that the mere presence of it will save you from evil is not correct. Same goes with a copy of Quran sitting on a shelf at home. If its not read, its no use. Just the book alone isnt gonna make things turn around for you. Reading and acting upon it will. I was just talking about judging people who do carry a copy of the Quran in their pocket. Lots of people think that such a person carries it around for 'good luck', or as a charm, or as a protectant. But there are people who carry the Quran for the purpose of reading it every chance they get. I know a hafiz who carries a small copy of the Quran in his pocket so that he can revise it every chance he gets. I am not advocating taweez ganda by any means. I think its a ludicrous way of using Islam. Unless u understand and act upon its teachings, Islam isnt gonna do anything for you.
