Please don’t move this post to another forum - I think it’s purrrfect for the all parents that own a minivan :@:
Just so that I justify this post being here - how many moms and dads like owning a minivan? How many bought it because they had to but hate the soccermom tag that goes along with it?
Re: That's how they roll - minivan loving moms and dads
My sister and her hubby have a minivan and an SUV. Funny enough, her husband driving towork alone, takes the minivan (company car) and she drives the SUV which is a 5-seater (she has 3 kids) to whereever she needs to go. She much prefers the SUV - the minivan is for long trips...
Re: That's how they roll - minivan loving moms and dads
I have a phobia of minivans. Hence even with 2 kids I plan on just getting a larger sedan like Camry/Accord. Eventually we will get a minivan too for weekend trips etc...but I refuseee to drive a minivan to work everyday...just a gas guzzler

Meee! We just bought a mini-van a few months back, and although I love all the extra space and seating that it gives you..I hate the soccer mom/dad connotation that goes along with it I’m still under 30! I don’t need to be driving a mini-van!
But honestly, it’s the greatest. We love taking trips in the summer, so it works out well for the family
Re: That's how they roll - minivan loving moms and dads
I had a minivan for a while. HATED every minute of it lol!! The darn thing was SO hard for me to drive, the front is so very short and the back is so very long. Inthe 6 months or so that I had it, I think I blew 4 tires because I'd always clip the curbs when turning. ack.
If you can drive it well though....its a lovely thing to have. VERY easy to get kids in and out, very comfy for all, mine even had dvd movie player.
But now, I drive a little jetta car and LOVE it. Its easy to drive. The boys fit. The driver seat has heat in it. Its good on gas.
Sliding doors: Its pain to take the infants car seats out and put them back in when you are parked in a tighter spot if the doors are swing open type.
Head room and easy accessibility: My wife can walk from her passenger seat all the way to the back of the van, grab a box of juice from the cooler, come back and give it to my screaming daughter. Try doing that in a moving car or even a SUV.
Closer to the ground: Minivan sits lower which makes them not only safe and less prone to roll overs but easy for kids to step in and out.

Nobody's interested in what you have to show Sehr :-p Alright fine i'm at work so cant watch right now will go home and watch and critique.
As for minivans, i loves em! My family's (mom dad bro sis me) first car in Canada in 1998 was a 1990 Dodge Caravan. Best $2200 we ever spent.
Soccer mom/dad is a label for introverts who have small 2 baby familys and don't look at moving people apart from themselves. For bonafide pakis though minivans are a great way to transport the extended family and then some.

This is exactly why we have caved in and decided to get a minivan. Sure it isn't stylish but comfort comes first.
Simply hate minivans I don’t know why but even minivans have large spaces and comforts but it feels like you are driving a bus.
Always loved the SUVS and still in love with them.We had a SUV which has 8 seats but rarely open back seats.Right now suvs work great for me.
