That man 'Dasti' again!!

**PCB hierarchy should be fired: parliament **

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s parliament has recommended the president fire the top hierarchy of the country’s cricket board, including team coach Intikhab Alam.

****Jamshed Dasti, the chairman of the lower house’s standing committee on sports, made the recommendation on Thursday.

“… the top management of PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) was mentally and physically incapable of handling the affairs of the board, thus bringing cricket inside and outside Pakistan to a verge of collapse,” Dasti said.

“The committee recommends termination of services of chairman PCB, chief operating officer (COO), director cricket operations and coach of Pakistan cricket team.”

Former Test wicketkeeper Wasim Bari is COO while ex-test fast bowler Zakir Khan is the director of cricket operations.

Last week, Dasti made severe criticism of PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, saying the 71-year-old was too old and thus incapable of doing his job.

The PCB responded by saying Dasti’s comments were unworthy of a member of parliament and not befitting his stature as committee chairman.

Pakistan president Ali Asif Zardari, who is also patron of the PCB, appointed Butt as board chairman in October 2008 in place of Nasim Ashraf.

“I have requested for the meeting with the president as early as possible to resolve this PCB crisis,” Dasti told reporters.

“I am quite hopeful that the president will give our recommendations due consideration.”

For once I agree with him..

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

Dasti ko again dast lagh gaeey hain :)

lagta to kuch youn hee hai.... but the problem is Butt sahab has strong political connections - he is the brother-in-law of (PPP) Defence Minister Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar

Nepotism rules the roost in Pakistan :)

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

I would bring Noor Khan if he is still alive to rescue cricket this time along.

Re: That man ‘Dasti’ again!!

Dasti was involved in imposing fines to some hockey officials recently :hehe: he is an idiot, attention whore.

At 86 I guess he is just too old to take up such a demanding job as PCB Chairman. Don’t know what his health is like at the moment…in current sad state PCB sey koi bhi taaluq rakhna unkee sahat k liye waise bhi theek nahin..

But there is no doubt he was a very good sports administrator

waise Sports Standing Committee *k *chairmen ek se barh kar ek namooney hain

First we had Enver Baig, now this joker Dasti

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

Dasti ho yaa Gashti
Sub ki G*n*D hay Phat-ti

OK, get rid of the PCB is great but what are you gonna replace it with Dasti?

His own family and friends.

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

Dasti literally means hand karne wala right?

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

This time I agree with Dasti. Let's all support Dasti in his quest to remove all top PCB administration.

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

As for replacing Ijaz Butt, why can't Pakistan look at the top people running all the large companies in Pakistan. Hire a top-tier CEO and let him handle affairs professionally.

You wouldn't let Ijaz Butt run Descon, so why let him run PCB?

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

From Ian Chappel's article from cricinfo........

I recall a 2004 conversation with their former champion batsman Javed Miandad. He believed Pakistan struggled to win overseas because for too long they had relied on help at home to win. Help in the form of favourable pitches and hometown umpiring, and when this wasn't forthcoming they had little to fall back on.

This is the mentality that we have been victim of for so long. Remember Inzi/MoYo made curator remove the grass on the eve of a test match with India. PHATOO panay ki had hoti hai!!!

Not true. We have won many test matches in England and NZ over the past two decades. Don't just look at the past 4 or 5 years when our test record has not been that great.

Pakistan do however struggle to win tests in Australia. That is the harsh reality

Look at Pakistan's record in England from 1982 to 1999.

Re: That man 'Dasti' again!!

I should have said in several years......this has been the case. How many times we have Inzi and MoYo insisted to turn a good pitch into a dead one before a match.
