When people have a project going on and they face show stoppers , they come running to me for helping them out to resolve those issues.
But when they are resolved they go on their own merry way. I do not even get a thank you email from them.
How do I get them to send a compliments filled email to my boss ?
Is there any shame in making that request to those Project Managers ?
Re: Thankless job.
well u r true this how it goes neway yes y not u can ask them but it wont work ......... u should do such things which are noticable like when ur project manager is relying on u for som etechnical work in which only u can resolve that so delay resolving it unless noticed by CEO / or ur immediate boss and get everything done when it becomes an issue. their are lot of ways to get noticed find out how? and think!
Re: Thankless job.
I'm not sure how the performance review system is in your firm, but one way could be to ask these people to write you a short testimonial for your performance review. Regardless of whether a 360 review system is in place or not, it doesn't hurt to list / outline the various contributions you've made to other projects when you submit your own performance report as well.
This may not be as explicit or obvious of an acknowledgment as one you seek, but it's a start anyways.
