Maybe I am excited and thats why I am posting this thread but my Indian fellows have instigated one more thought in me as usual, when I came to know that the evergreen hockey magician Dhyanchand was never given an adequate treatment not only in his post career as a hockey player but also in the evening of his life.
I came to know that our Lady prime minister was unwilling to confer him his deserved plume and he was even denied medical aides to the greatest hockey player of all time,to whom, the Fureher had once even offered the German Army General post, after watching his majestic display of hockey at berlin Olympics in 1936.
Dhyan knew that he would be treated hell like this, and he had told the sama to his son Ashok, who was also a national hockey figure, who had represented the Indian team many times, who was a member of the Indian team that won the 1980 olympic gold medal in Moscow.Mr.Asok had to take a hell lot of difficulties in taking his father to Delhi for the treatment at AIMS and at first Dhyan was given entry in to general ward only before taken to the speacial care unit ,after a news on an English paper.
The most intereting thing is ,India had never acknowledged this great pearl ,not a single time in their team brochure where as Pakistan had the will to do it ,to cast his photo on their team brochure along with Mr.Dhara(the Pakistani hockey legend ,who is the father of pakistan hockey).
As some of the newspapers predicted, his birthday just passed un attended by any of the top officials of the Indian hockey federation including mr.Gill.(there were only a few pople to attend the function including Mr.Pargat singh and others).
Now I wonder, though really improbable, had Dhyan accepted the Furehers offer,he would havebeen a legend now…(simply imagining)… He could have better escaped the immoral attittude of those who neglected him…
Really feeling that itch in my heart…
But thanks Pakistan…
