I’ve got the recipe for the sharbat called “Thaddal” or “thadai”
1/2 cup soaked/peeled almonds
1 tsp khash khaash
1 tablespoon “saath maghaz” (optional)
6-7 cardamom pods
sugar to taste
Grind everything together and add 2 cups of cold water and blend some more.. strain in a muslin cloth and squeeze well.
(Many people add 2-3 pieces of black pepper, no one at home likes it though)

Niksik, they're seeds of diff types of melons..I usually leave them out! It's the BEST drink for summers..and in Dubai we can't get enuff of Thaddal!

Actually I had some made in Multan.. I liked it better than the one from Sindh.. my father usually brings back Thaddal in concentrated form.. and we just have to mix water to it.
This recipe is my Dadi's, she makes yummy Thaddal/Thandai/Thadai'i!

Not pathaan??? "1 tsp khash khaash " makes me suspect it IS!
